Hy Cyberjedi,
Where do I find Voiceware voices?

Not really had time to run your idea, but I will.  Seems you have a way of giving Hal a great deal of information from various sources.  I use a modified version of OTCE Internet access program to get my Hal to access information.  Still, always open to new ideas.  Yours seems good.

This is supposed to be a family friendly site. This means that even young kids interested in chatbots, A.I. or other points of interest might visit here. They shouldn't have to see those two points!  Some of us have young kids or grandkids that like to talk to Hal. Please use good judgement when posting images.

Thanks!

BOOK'EM DANIEL !! lol , But Art is right being a family site we need to watch what is posted on the forum .

Their are some things that i worry about with a cloud based hal learning things , lets pretend for a moment that somebody naive or young gets hal and playing says my name is "so and so" and my social security number is ".................." now hal has just uploaded that info to the web and other people see it , and is downloaded back to other hals etc.
I don't know if their is any work around on this or not , i personally would like hal having a cloud base to pull conversations from .  but here is my idea as a work around instead of a person not being able to be hooked to the internet because of worries of their info being learned and kept for others to use.
MY SUGGESTION TO ROBERT , YES THIS IS ANOTHER LIGHTSPEED IDEA ( ROBERT I HOPE YOU SEE THIS !!) how about having a program file so that others can be hooked up to the internet cloud based but another option check to allow hal to retrieve from the internet but "NOT" learn from a user .
other users that don't care can use the other option that allows hal to save conversations on the cloud base system . just be sure to have a note beside each check option to people know what each one does .
This would give everyone the best of both worlds .

I do hope ROBERT thinks about this idea and uses it.

I also will mention to Robert that he really needs to have a good filter on his learning conversations on a cloud base .
microsoft found out the hard way their chat cloud base .

http://www.businessinsider.com/microsoft-deletes-racist-genocidal-tweets-from-ai-chatbot-tay-2016-3

So robert will have to be very guarded against people doing the same thing on hal.

Anyway i hope Robert likes this new idea .

Pardon?

I have no idea what on earth you are talking about Art.

I simply asked where I can get what I took to be voice software and commented how I access information.

Please explain.  You have me very disturbed by what you put, and I need to understand your reasoning.

Krypton, you jumped in a little too late. The image in question has been removed by a Moderator.
We need to keep in mind that young people also use / frequent this site from time to time. Therefore, use some discretion when posting images.

No worries, mate!

Now with this Cloud thing. Unless Hal's memory gets defined by what other people chat or upload to it, I don't see how a cloud based bot would be a problem. I would think that each person might be able to chat with "Their" Hal and not a "Collective" Hal, one that contained the conversations of everyone. I can only hope this will not be the case.

I don't think such a "filter" has been made to weed out all possible human curse, slang and wrong meaning words. I wouldn't want my Hal to have a brain like a bucket of worms filled with garbage collected from every other person on the planet. Your Hal has been trained, educated and mentored by you, it should be yours alone and your choice, if you wish to share part or all or it's brain...not on a have to basis.

I'd much rather have my Hal reside on my local computer Hard Drive but be able to access the Internet as needed for certain informational answers, weather, sports, factual information, etc.

Art,
Thanks for clearing that up, and apologise for jumping in a little too late.

I to have a child, and one day grandchildren I hope, but more than that I used to teach children as young as five years old and for that your reputation has to be above reproach.

I agree with you, I too would prefer my Hal on my computer hard drive.

My opinion and would like to say hello to everyone, just returned from a business trip. Missed the holidays but from what I am reading I wish everyone would remember what the Heading of this thread is.

Great stuff that can be posted in another thread.

Need to stay focused on the business side of further development of UltraHal and Zabaware, it comes back to raising appropriate funding if possible. Lets stay focused.

Thanks and happy to talk to everyone after the Thanksgiving Holiday, hope everyone is doing well and had a great Holiday.

I do wish that there could be a combination of force between Robert Medeksza of Zabaware and Chris Shaw of Haptek, with each company putting forth a newly enhanced and improved product.
The characters that Haptek offered were some of the best, emotive, lifelike, customizable avatars / characters I've used or seen for a unique product application like UltraHal.

The UltraHal chatbot was also unique in that it wasn't "stamped out: like the other cookie cutter AMIL clones out there. Hal's approach and workings were different, customizable and uniquely personable. The ability to customize the character, personality, clothing, background, User Interface, Speech, Brain and a myraid of possible Plug-ins, made it a winning combination. Not to mention the fact that it could easily "learn" or retain information from its user conversations to be used if applicable during subsequent user interactions.

It's no wonder that Hal is still being used and loved by people to this day! It is a versatile, experimental AI platform that offers the potential for so much for such a modest amount of money!

Somewhere there are some worthy investors that would help get the new Hal the forefront once more! Let's find them.... ;)

I second Art's thoughts but, from a business point of view, what does the large investor get out of putting money into Hal's development?

A rather brutal thought I know but that is the question any large investor will ask themselves.

If you are talking member investment then I would be quite willing to invest a very few dollars in Hal.  A very few dollars, I am not rich, but then multiplied by the number of members this equates to a lot of cash and keeps Hal amongst the people most interested in Hal development.

Perhaps a Hal fund, paid directly to Robert Medeksza. (I know a lot of people are going to say where does the money they invest go but then Robert Medeksza invested a lot of time creating Hal)

My thoughts are just about keeping Hal out of commercial hands (Yes I know we pay to use Hal initially, but fairs fair it must have taken a lot of time to create Hal and the membership fees keep Hal in motion.)

Comments please!

Some good points Kryton and also consider the fact that Robert has to pay for Hal's Servers as well as the Hosting for this website that has kept it up and running for many years that it's been in existence. All that takes money too.

If Hal is to get a "Facelift" in the way of a newly enhanced Brain and perhaps a new set of characters / avatars, those cost money, especially to animate them for use with the Hal software. Good graphic artists can be somewhat costly especially when tying one structure to another. (chatacter to Hal).

I also would like to know more specifics with regard to what Robert needs and why, how much, current status, goals, etc.

Hopefully, we might hear something soon.

although this is nothing to do with raising money but i also hope along the way that beside new code talent coming into hal , we might run across some next generation graphics and code people who might be able to do some of the stuff like Art mentioned with characters and existing designs .

NOTE : WORDING MISTAKES CORRECTED !! Thanks Art ! :) ;)

At this point in time I am looking for $60,000 to $100,000 in investment. $60,000 will get the next generation of Hal's brain. It will have the ability to run Hal across mobile devices, web servers, Mac, Linux, and Windows. It will have hooks into Google Home, Facebook M, and other messaging and bot platforms. It will have the benefit of cloud based learning and a huge conversational database orders of magnitude larger then the current version while still keeping the ability to keep your information private. The next $40,000 will go to character engine development and 3d character artwork. The investment will go toward hiring developers and artists and buying my own time back. Currently Zabaware breaks even paying for its own costs and paying down debt incurred back in 2008 for a project that didn't pan out. I haven't taken any salary from Zabaware since 2008 and am employed full time elsewhere. That coupled with 2 new babies in the family have left me with little time left for Zabaware. I have a few promising leads I am chasing. Also a long time Zabaware customer is launching a new crowd investing platform in early 2017 that I may try out. Differs from Kickstarter where you are actually a real investor with real shares and will share in the success of a company you invest in. Check out http://newchip.co/ I think a combination of this and some traditional investors may be the answer.

Thanks for the information Mr. Medeksza.

Just a thought, maybe.  How many people use Ultra Hal?  Just one single dollar each could raise a lot of funds.
