Can't get to Advanced Speech Functions
« on: December 21, 2001, 12:51:17 am »
When I click on the Advanced Speech Options in the Speech tab on General Options Hal tries to remove my firewall program. I moved the shortcut from the start menu for that program and now nothing happens when I click on Advanced Speech Options. I'm trying to edit the pronunciation of some words that Hal consistantly gets wrong.

I too am having some trouble with this function. When I hit the Advanced Speech Functions (ASF) button the Help window for WinZip comes up. Something a bit odd going on there.

It seems this is a bug in Hal that appears on some systems such as yours. For whatever reason it is reading the wrong entry from your system registry. If you want to get to the advanced speech options, simply go to Control Panel (Click start, settings, control panel) and open the Speech applet. That is what Hal tries to open when you click on that button.

When I click on the advanced speech options, I get the "wrong cd" pop-up.
What's wrong Dave?
