For those who are having trouble watching the PBS video try going to http://anonymouse.org/anonwww.html and then enter http://video.pbs.org/video/1786674622 address into the input box on the page. (then press button to surf)

This site should allow you to watch the video. This only problem is a few small popups advertisements.

I hope this works but if not I'll try something else.

Datahopa, that vid was just a tiny clip of the original the full one is 53 minutes long.

If you aren't afraid of torrents, I found the full episode.

Try using a Proxy. Sorry for the problem.

You can also look it up at a torrent site and probably find it there also.

This is the best video I think I've ever seen on Ai and Chatbots.

Well. It looks like PBS just did a whole episode on Watson.

If you go to 14:30 you find more info about Watson and also some more on Ai.

I'm looking to see how much it would cost to do that. I'll send you an email with my ideas. I also want to talk to someone else about this to.

I was using EmguCV which is the VB version of OpenCV. I was using this in HalVision which included working with haarcascade. But you probably already knew this. I also have Kinect and I was thinking about using it for an Ai as well. Although I haven't started coding any of this.

I think it would be super cool to use a Natal like version of Hal on a 360 platform. Using Kinect on a pc would also be awesome because it has allot more to offer than just a simple camera. It can also map out the environment and create a 3d map of the room its currently in.

As for making a Hal plugin. In order to get Halvision to connect to Hal I had to use sendkeys... which basically finds the Hal window and then types a command into Hal's window. So its alittle bit messy. I don't know any other way of stimulating Hal outside of using sendkey techniques. It would be better if all this could be Coded directly into Hal.

If I find a better way I'll try to relay it.

Well, Will set me up and helped me learn how to program Mr Data. And you can see in Will's awesome videos that the modified Elvis uses an added servo and board to connect the lips to the pc. Then he creates lipsync by making sevo positions coorespond to the amplitude of the .wav file.

I think I could figure how to do that using Mr Data's servos.

Its very cool.

no worries  :)

Well, maybe in 20 years it won't sting as bad, but I know what you meant.

I was watching it happen in real-time and will probably never forget it.

Well, I haven't felt the need to add any more to the SPAMMERS WALL OF SHAME lately because Dusky is so fast.

If they start lingering around or if they are exceptionally annoying then I might reconsider it.

Yeah Dusky!!!
