So I've finally launched my project. It's along the lines of a chat bot, but it's meant to merge the worlds of interactive fiction and fan fiction.
You can make standalone 'chat bots' with it, however, you can't make KBs nearly as complicated as Hal, but that was intentional. The upside is, it is MUCH easier to make simple chat bots. No XML here, just plain text files to edit. It supports MS Agents, images, speech, sound effects, etc.
