Hello Seven,
It is possible to have a free Hal simulate actual speech recognition by using another MS Agent based speech recognition program with the same MS Agent Character that you are running with your Hal. You just have to run the two programs concurrently, and you don't use any plugins. But the free speech recognition program that I used can only be used for voice commands to open programs on your desktop, and not to converse with Hal. I did all this with the free version of Hal 4.5 before I upgraded to the full Hal 5.0. I was able to have a text chat with my free Hal's MS Agent and then issue voice commands to have it open and/or close programs. The free speech recognition program that I used also had some other built-in functions like an address/phone book. If you are interested in pursuing this possibility for your Hal just make another post. And then I will assist you further if this sounds like something you would like to try-out.
Best Regards,
Rich_A

Hey guys, I have not been back to the forum inso long and did not realize my vox design was so popular.  :)  Sorry about the download link, but my server was offline.

Here is a link to it and a mirror just in case:
http://www.cypher-sec.org/VOXskin.rar
http://http://24.18.67.134/091903/VOXskin.rar

I don't know why the link is not available from the plugins, skinds section.  :(
Please email me if you have any problems downloading my VOX skin and I can try and email it back to you.  :)

As for the brain, it's a work in progress and will I'm sure take a very long time.  I've thought of posting a web K.I.T.T. to speed up the learning process.  :)
However it will be sweet if it works like K.I.T.T. should.  :)

By the way, does anyone know how to create the moving or flashing vox section?  I knew how to create the skin, but could not figure that out.  :(

thecolor, if you read a bit earlier in this thread, I had mentioned that I have been able to create a character that simulates KITT's flashing voice display. I have e-mailed you twice regarding this character but you must not have received my e-mails. I wanted to get together with you about making my character available with your KITT Vox Skin to make it easier for people to get and install. My character was designed to fit with your skin and, for that reason,I wanted to check with you first before posting my character here. Let me know what you think. I'd like to get the character available for everyone asap. I wanted you to be aware that a character is available for your skin before I upload. Sorry for the delay everyone! [:)]

That would be awesome.  Sorry, I did not see the post you mentioned.  Feel free to email me the character and I will add it to the skin rar and information regarding your crreation and contact info in the readme file.  Please include whatever you want people to know about you for that file.  :)  I can't wait to see it in action!!  I plan to ultimately use this in my K.I.T.T. replica of which is still under way.   :)  By the way, any info that you are aware of on enhancing the brain to be specific to K.I.T.T.'s knowledge and any the user may wish to add?  I.E. all the series scripts, (words), etc.

Thanks, looking forward to hearing from you.

Now I also want to figure out how to tweak the speech options enough so it sounds more like William Daniels.  :)

Doing things like this with this program will make K.I.T.T.'s brain, abilities, speech, looks and more a reality for any replica!!  :)

thecolor, I'll send it to you as soon as I can. I am adjusting the animation frames a bit at the moment to get KITT's voice display to be the proper size in relation to your skin. It will be ready very shortly. Thanks!

Hey Spydaz....
I don't mind the assistance in servering the skin, but did you place a link to my server and or kitt replication page?  It would be nice to be recognized for my work at least.  :)  I see the links in 2 places but no mention of who is responsible for the creation.  :(

Thanks man,
~TC

I hate to sound ungrateful or anything, but I only feel it's appropriate to credit someone else’s work when it's requested or duplicated somehow from them.  Since it is my work, I would greatly appreciate at least a folder <dir> that said "cypher-sec.org" less the quotes of course, to indicate it's origination.  I don't wish it to be featured, simply noted as to whom created it, despite whether my author details are in there.

Please comply with the request.  I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thank you,

Thanks man, I really appreciate you working with me on that and providing the mirror (in case my server is unavailable).  It only seemed fair to any developer.  :)  At least others will know you can provide a mirror without sharing difficulties.  [:D]
