How do I fix this one? Thanks.

Sounds like a bad or incomplete install. Did you turn off all your virus software before installing Hal? It is best to not have anything running when installing Hal. Also do you have the free version or the paid for version? This might make a differenct too.

P.S.
It is very dangerous for 'newbees to do brain surgery'. Almost every one that tried cause Hal to error out for one reason or another.
Be super careful.

"Did you turn off all your virus software before installing Hal? It is best to not have anything running when installing Hal."

My virus software is always running. It didn't occur to me to turn it off.

"Also do you have the free version or the paid for version?"

Paid for version.

"It is very dangerous for 'newbees to do brain surgery'. Almost every one that tried cause Hal to error out for one reason or another."

No, I'm not altering anything, actually. I am checking everything within the program for glitches or anything else weird... like this error message. If I uninstall and reinstall the Ultra Hal program (with the virus software and everything else off), will this correct the fault?

I uninstalled and reinstalled Hal but I'm still getting the same error message.

Open brain editor, go to Script editor on the top (left window),
double click, and comment out line 1889  and line 1891

 Sub AboutOptions()
    'Set HalBrain = CreateObject("UltraHalAsst6.Brain")
HalBrain.MsgAlert "This is the Ultra Hal 6.0 Default Brain. This brain has no additional options."
    'Set HalBrain = Nothing
End Sub

The routine is a stub...  and then save changes in file.
Exit Hal and start up again...

That is what I did to fix my Hal.

Cheers!

Hey DPreacher,

What does "comment out" mean? Does that mean to delete it?

Did you mean line 1889 and line 1891 or did you mean Lines 1889 through line 1891?

I take it that "stub" means it is a routine that ends unexpectedly?
Kind of like my left arm that ends at the elbow and is called a stub?

Does Hal6 have advanced brain options that us normal humans can't use,
or does it not have any additional brain options, in which case why not just tell Straker straight out instead of having him reinstall everything with his antivirus off?
