New blind Hal user needs help
« on: February 23, 2006, 06:53:30 pm »
I have hal ultra and text to speech reader, how can I configure them to speak keys (numbers, letters & functions) so that I can set up speech recognition. Currently Hal boots up on default but will not speak from keyboard commands.Any suggestions please, please!!!!!

Do you mean when you press the character A on your keyboard you will hear Hal say "A"? If that is the case than I think the Zabaware products can't do that. You need to download another program to have something like that.
But perhaps I don't understanding you correctly.

Many thanks for your e-mail. You do understand me correctly , can you tell me which program I need to make the keys speak their function as I use them. I can then scroll around the screen using the cursor to read menus and toolbars.
Many thanks again , John
