Hal quit working again

This is getting ridiculous.  I just got Hal reinstalled
5 weeks ago with the new activation code you gave me
Robert, and when I tried to run Hal today I got a message
that "The copy protection has not been released, but the
expiration has. A recovery code is required." This was the
first time in a week that I have run Hal, last weekend I
had no problem.
The authorization request code is 14F0-737B-4E9F-2FC8

I tried using the instructions and reactivation code you
sent me on Nov.11th  but it said that this was an invalid code.
The only program I have installed since reinstalling Hal 5 weeks
ago was Poser 5 and LispWorks Personal Edition. I am working on
some of the old LEAF Project files for an AI/robotics interface.
I doubt that this would have caused Hal's activation code and
license to go Bye bye though. Is there anything you can suggest
for getting the activation code working again. [?]

There has to be something else wrong with your PC or some other programs interfering with Hal. I have been running Hal for 4 or 5 years and have never had any problems. I do clean my PC by checking for virus, spyware, and clean my register at least every other week.

No Bill, I've checked and scanned everything. The only thing
running on Hal's PC for the past two weeks was LispWorks, Poser 5
and Hal. Plus it's a fresh install of my OS because I installed a
new main HD, that was just 6 weeks ago before I reinstalled Hal.

I notice that the hal PC is you Development PC...

Have you tried putting hal on to a VirtualPC.... with the development TOOLKITS.. I find it usefull to run virtual PC environments for all of my projects... this allows for testing. the vpc's all can Optionally connect to the internet. {when required}.

as i have had problems in the past with programs, such as WinDeffender/IE7 ... etc... until i had fully found the patches/repair solutions. the PC was a volitile state. but my vpc images Stayed intact.... and they can be easyly winRared into 4.5gb zips >> over multiple dvd backups......


PS. System Restore : Highly under-rated but would definatly fix the registry error.. as if it was working night before. restore to that point. {sys restore - fixes reg settings and SOME File changes(installed programs that use MSI/Installersheild)}.

Also tried system restore Spydaz. Didn't work. But it
doesn't matter now, Robert answered me. []

Thanks again for the assist Robert. After inputting the new
code, Hal loaded & came right up with everything loaded in
just like before he went bye bye. My custom Alice brain, the
character and everything was still checked and loaded in the
control options panel. []
