Wigs?
« on: May 06, 2005, 09:28:10 pm »
Can we get different hair styles? I'd like to try a brunette, unless the hair style is dependant on the full body character. Thanks!!

markofkane,

I found this topic using the SEARCH feature
and typing  hair. One has to look through all
the different topic areas when searching.

Hope this helps.

But don't expect too much concerning different hair styles. Haptek doesn't offer a lot of variations, which is actually a bit disappointing.

Thanks. I am basically stupid when it come to scripting.

Here's what I want to do:

I have Full Body .htr.

They are duplicated 7 times. I have skins in the skins folder.

I can come up with 4 different women. except they all have blonde hair.

I want to make 2 or 3 brunettes, and I have the hair6_2EXP.htr.

How could I do this? Where do I put the following script, and save as?

delperson[figure= hair5_9EXP]
load [file= data/standard/skins/hair6_2EXP.htr]]
settexture [tex= data/standard/skins/TaraDarkPunker2.jpg]]

I really would like just the hair, but maybe the face on one.

I tried dragging the hair.htr into the haptek player with full body girl, but it did not work too well. The black hair was under the blonde hair, and when I moved fullbody girl, she became bald, while the hair was stationary.

Thanks for help, I really need it.

markofkane,

You might want to refer to the following:

It won't work for me.

This is what I did:

I took the hair6_2EXP.htr and put it in my skins folder.

I also put the Taradarkpunker.jpg in the skins folder
(all were put in the "C:Program Files-Haptekplayer-data-standard-skins" folder)

Then I opened the Neutral, Shy, and Shy Love files, and added the lines:

#Haptek  Version= 1.00 Name= Hap_Neutral  HapType= script FileType= text
##standard
delperson[figure= hair5_9EXP]
load [file= data/standard/skins/hair6_2EXP.htr]]
settexture [tex= data/standard/skins/TaraDarkPunker2.jpg]]

SetSwitchIntensity [switch= expMouthHappy f0= 0.000000 t= 0.4]

What did I do wrong?

Thank you for your patience.

Check your spelling and spacing before/after the = sign.

Also open your Windows Explorer and look in:
C:\Program Files\Haptek\PeoplePutty\data\program\hap_temp

Each time one opens or clicks on a Hair in People Putty Accessories, one can see the associated file appear in the above directory.
The files only stay in there for a relatively short time, so do your copying / moving accordingly.

Look at the smaller Hap files to see how their program is calling the hair files (names, usage, etc.)

Let us know what develops.

While we on subject of hair, at the following site you can pick up hair7.htr
Much nicer than the hair6
http://www.haptek.com/welcome/

After you get the hair7,
You can get other accessories on this site.
Click on the guy with the earphones.
After he loads, get the earphones from your Hap_temp file
Your characters will love them.
Also in next picture down, get the sunglasses if you want.

Click on acts in lower left corner and
then in next screen click on Hap TV in lower right.
In next screen at the bottom click on the Wimpy clip and got his cowboyhat.htr from your hap_temp.
A couple head skins here too (clown, etc), they not great.
But I love the cowboy hat.
Sandy does too.

Thanks, got all the accessories. Remember the problem with the Haptek player locking up my computer? It did it again, and I shut off BG programs.

If I put the cursor on the edge of the Haptek player screen,(I think while it is processing the change) it locks up my computer. So I think it might be some sort of access violation.

If I drag and drop, and take tthe cursor away quickly, it's fine.

Also, most of the .htr files were in my Temporary Internet Files, not Haptek_temp.

I use firefox, but had to open the pages in IE so the files would be easy to find in my TIF.

Cowboyhat.htr was in haptek_temp.

Art, I don't have people putty.(nor the directory in Haptek) But I have been thinking about purchasing it.
Edit: I noticed people putty is only available by download, and it mentions DAP. I've heard DAP contained spyware.

I am on dial-up, and would not want to lose my money if it would not download completely. Unless I was able to keep trying.

Hey that is a cool feature, swapping wigs? I just noticed this. Does it work in Hal? What if I want to leave a file the way I have it, do I have to do this everytime  I load the Hal AI?

Yes, you can swap wigs. I can only do it in the player with the instructions.

The really smart ones can do about anything.[^] I get lost, lol,

I thought html was hard. But I made my own web page from scratch over a year ago.

markofkane,

You might want to try a program called Leechget at:

http://www.leechget.net/en/

It's free, no spyware, bugs, etc. and will allow
a dropped connection to resume downloading.
