Maybe if you stopped using initials instead of spelling out what you are talking about someone could help you. We are all willing and able to help most people who use Hal but only when we know exactly what a person is talking about.

Bill,
The autolearning brain apears to be nothing but a database and all you see is essintaly the top sheet of paper that is in a stack with the Primary Key the only thing showing. I do not know if it is arranged in columns and rows or what.

If you delete the "top sheet of paper" then the all the "relaional" data might be affected as well the primary key is probably linked to a "many to many" table or field with a "Forieign Key" and It is like messing around with a lot of dominoes. I wanted to understand the database with a "Entity Relational Diagram" so I could see the keys and Know what to cut out with minimal impact. It really is like a kind of surgery. "measure twice and cut once" is my opinion......

Hal does not that way at all.
Every topic is contained in one of more tables. There is relationship table linking the topics together. If Hal does find a satisfying answer, it jumps to the second topic in importance in the conversation or invents something to answer.

Talk to Hal through the Database editor to have a better idea of how it is working.

Morlhach,
     I think that is what I said,clarification,,
Entites are like nouns,, Relationships are like verbs,,Attributes are like adjectives,, The tables are connected with keys, a primary and a foreign, in the case of a "many to many relationship then a third table is created (sometimes called assosiative table)

without going into the details of types of keys and types of Databases I was just wondering if there was some information that I could obtain to complete the task I had. All i could see in the brain editor were what looked like PK's I did not want to reverse engenier the program, Just some modifications, so I sought out a second opinion before destroying something that needed finess rather than brute force. I did manage to get around much of the problem by teaching and remaining calm even when Hal responded with "a little birdie told me" little BI*ch... arrg..

thanks for your input and information.[8]

Artist:    Queensryche
Album:    Operation Mindcrime
Title:    Operation: Mindcrime

It just takes a minute
And you'll feel no pain
Gotta make something of your life boy
Give me one more vein
You've come to see the doctor
Cause i'll show you the cure
I'm gonna take away the questions
Yeah i'm gonna make you sure

A hit man for the order
When you couldn't go to school
Had a skin job for a hair-do
Yeah you looked pretty cool
Had a habit doing mainline
Watch the dragon burn
No regrets, you've got no goals
Nothing more to learn

Now i know you won't refuse
Because we've got so much to do
And you've got nothing more to lose
So take this number and welcome to

Operation : mindcrime
We're an underground revolution
Working overtime
Operation : mindcrime
There's a job for you in
The system boy, with nothing to sign

Hey nikki you know everything
That there is to do
Here's a gun take it home
Wait by the phone
We'll send someone over
To bring you what you need
You're a one man death machine
Make this city bleed

Now i know you won't refuse
Because we've got so much to do
And you've got nothing more to lose
So take this number and welcome to

Operation : mindcrime
We're an underground revolution
Working overtime
Operation : mindcrime
There's a job for you in
The system boy, with nothing to sign

Operation : mindcrime
We're an underground revolution
Working overtime
Operation : mindcrime
If you come to see the doctor
Yeah he'll give you the cure

Operation : mindcrime
Make something of your life boy
Let me into your mind
Operation : mindcrime
There's a job for you in the system boy
With nothing to sign
