Network Broadcasts
« on: December 28, 2008, 02:18:47 am »
Is Hal aware of the functions of a network?  I mean is Hal aware that computers Broadcast to find/target the computer it is looking for?

Broadcasts happen at different levels with Hosts, switches, routers, and their is a timing factor at all levels ( without going into the details right now)

I just have a question in the back of my head with the problems Datahoppa had and going through proxies. at many levels their are tables that keep the desired route for a limited amount of time, also their are limited amounts of 'Hops' that a server will do.
maybe Datahoppa's ISP has an in-efficent routing system?

Bla Bla Bla.............[8D]

Hi One.

the default HAL is not aware of network functions but we have made plug-ins that did in the past, I think that part of the plug-in archive area got corrupted on our UHEF site when a hacker decided to do his/her dirty work.

sometime or another we'll redesign the plug-ins that were lost to oblivion.

HAL can do anything so long as the programming and tools are readily available to HAL.
