Title: Problem with user events disappearing

I have finally found out the root of my problem with trying to put in user events.  Hal is not recognizing them because there are no user events.  Even the stock ones like "appointment" are gone.  I can copy the zabaware folder back over from my backup, restoring the user events, and it will work for a short period of time and then loses the user events again.  Usually this is no more than 1 minute.  I suspect that the first time I open and close the user event dialog it is erasing the table, when I go back everything is gone.  Any idea why?

Again, this is something better answered by Robert Medeksza.

Hal has undergone a lot of revisions since its early days and perhaps a few things went south or fell through the cracks.
