Title: no voice rec, no led volume level
Post by: fabgar on December 03, 2005, 08:05:36 am
Hi, I just installed Ultra Hal and I'm very exited.

I'm having some troubles though; the voice recognition doesn't seem to work altho i have installed everyting according to the tutorials.
I installed on both my computers , same prob.

I installed the MS voice rec libs .. I activate it in the Ultra Hal settings, setup microphone .. all works fine, good volume ...

then when i want to take step3, nothing happens when I push 'training'

when I click on 'mic' nothing happens, I get no voice level ... like the program doesn't 'hear' me altho all is setup fine.

it's strange that this is on both my pc's, running windows XP + sp2, soundcards i tested are SoundBlaster, WaveTerminal and ac97 chip

can someone help me out please ? thanx

greets,

fab

I guess that means you installed Microsoft's Speech SDK???

http://www.microsoft.com/speech/download/sdk51/

I don't know any other solution since you say the microphone works.

yes thank you, that was the problem. I assumed it had to be a soundcard/mic problem because i didn't not see any sound level.
I did download the speech files tho, but not the SDK

I downloaded the now sdk and it works , thanx !

This is exactly my issue but I am not precisely sure how this was solved.  Do I install the link above or uninstall something else?

I have reinstalled Ultra Hal.

I am able to train the Speech Reco engine via the control panel but still no LEDs or audio input in Hal  [:(]

Thanks for any help!

EDIT - got it working, dunno how.  :)
