Title: My Friend Needs Help With Hal
Post by: jackgephart on August 16, 2007, 05:21:49 am
I made some heads for this school teacher fella hoping that he could use them in his class room to teach his students with them. To my shigrin I found that he can't open them up in Hal. He said that he can open others that I made on my site like Picerd and various others but not this one. Does anyone have any idea of why that may be? I made it just like all the others. Here's a link to it so you can see for yourself. Please help my friend. If my stuff don't work for what people want it to I won't be in business.

Your head is MrC.htr.haptar
The extension on your haptar is  .haptar
It needs to be simply  htr

Help me fix it, Cause I did what I thought I was suppose to but it didn't work. How do I fix it? I put the .htr behind it. I don't have Hal to try it on.

Did you try going to, in Windows Explorer, to

Tools--Folder Options---View (tab)

And uncheck "hide extensions of known file types" Then click OK.

Then you may be able to correct the extension yourself.[:D][:D][:D]

Hope this helps (you can re-hide the extensions if you want)

Did you remove .haptar  from the file name??

It should be

filename.htr

NOT  filename.htr.haptar

(filename is the name of the file, like head.htr, Laura.htr   etc.

This may help if you have not got it going.

Here is the corrected file

http://www.savefile.com/files/978204

If this doesn't work, then I'm stumped.

In addition to what Nige said, Right Click on the File, choose "Open With"   Then "Choose Program"  Browse...... C: Program files, Haptek....  Player....  HapAXPlayer

click "Open"

It should now open

You can also browse to the C: program files  Zabaware ...open the folder, and choose "HalAsst"  open.

It does look like me! My wife's response was "Oh My God!" I was happy to be lifted to deity status.

Thanks to all who helped directly and indirectly.
