Ok I did find the manual for the brain editor...why they did not include the thing with the original bundle? I dunno.
The editor they show looks different then the one that came with my HAL. It as some of the features that I am looking for, like assigning important keywords to look for first before anything else.
Do I need to update my HAL version? I thought I purchased the latest one.

I think the manual is way out of date, unless I am wrong it was meant for Hal V5.
I think your right Freddy, I cannot recall seeing new additions to this manual for some time. I think it still contains some valuable information though. I can imagine a manual takes almost as long to compile as the program itsself. I think this forum has become a type of manual.
well, that explains things. I liked some of the features it talked about and I was like, well, WHERE the heck is THAT?
Can anyone post a link where I can chat with a fully developed hal, that was programmed with JUST the chatbot interface so I can see what I will get for whats obviously going to be a lot of time talking to him?
I am having a hard time dropping my own "Fully in control of every response all the time" AIML training...hahaha Yoda not withstanding!
perservere you will, because a life you have not!
thanks ^_^ BV
Hey Button
Have you seen the Ulra Hal on wikipedia? It contains a lot of info about Hals brain.

Help you then, I will not![;)]
Lol then, be a forum hound I will then!
This is the page wiki gave me with a search for ultra hal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultra_Hal It does not offer much info other the what it is. Maybe you could post your link if it is different.

This seems to be in question as attempts to contact the person who started it is MIA.

You could also look at the various conversations some members have posted with their respective Hals. Keep in mind that a lot of members use local, shall we say, colorful language when conversing with their Hals.[:D]
Here's an idea - you see a lot of software these days supported by a manual in the form of a WIKI. A lot of people are familiar with these nowerdays, so how about we ask Rob to set us up a WIKI manual where we can add information as and when we figure it out. A few us us could transfer stuff from the old manual that is still relevant and Rob could easily add new things to it as he goes along.

The one I was referring to was pointed out by One. The one you found was by Hal's creater, Robert M. However it now appears that OTC has also created a web site on Wiki so a lot of help should be short comming.
Bill
Oops
The second one was created by OTC, my mistake
Yes Bill819, I think Bill D. and OTCE should consider combining the two WIKI's as there's a lot of very useful info and projects on Bill's WIKI and it would be a shame to lose it.
