i may have found an elvis animatronics to use for hal project . will see if i can get it or not . will post more when i find out ![:)]

I had a bunch of links to anamatronics devices and may still have them if you are interested. As I have mentioned many time robotics was and is my main interest.

thanks bill for the offer , well i was going to go with the animated santa claus but decided since i found a fairly cheap elvis head and like the way it works that can talk through it like the santa claus that it will be idea . i am going to hook it up with hal and let hal talk through it .

A cheap Elvis head? Wow Wee sold them for $350.00 and I was lucky enough to find a brand new one in its original box for $250.00.
Genny.com who made lip sincing santa, skelletions, whitches, etc normally sold them a lot cheaper than that either of the above prices. My almost singing, dancing, skelleton stands almost 6 feet tall, but when a mic is plugged in it no longr dances, just lip sincs. Actually I thought of contacting the creators of Mr.Clock Radio to see if I could talk them into just making a lip sinc head without the radio. I feel sure a lot of people would like that both Hal users and robot builders.

ok am back and now since i won the elvis item on ebay and here is a link so if anyone else wants to bid on one to use it for the same hal purpose like i wanted to . please note these are missing a singing modual and ac dc adapter and mic other wise they are in perfect shape with the box as you can see on the web site . i gave or rather i should say my wife gave (its an early anniversary present ) she gave 34.99 thats including shipping so that was a good price i think for having something that does facial movements etc you can read all on the site what all it does and on utube they have videos of what the elvis head does !!
i figured i had an extra mic from my kareoke machine and if i dont have a universal adapter i can get one fairly cheap .

I had a look at the youtube videos and being honest, they kind of freak me out.
I wish they could let Elvis be dead gracefully, I'm surprised no one has dug him up and stuffed him yet.
But probably the oddest thing for me is that it doesn't even look like Elvis.
Sorry about the negative comments, I really love Elvis, but I can't help wishing he could rest in peace.

to me its not a matter of wether it looks like elvis or not (that part doesnt matter to me ) whats important to me is this is a very good animatronic head for a fairly cheap price that i can use later with hal and hal will talk through this head !kind of like the jules animatronic head on utube just at a way cheaper price !

In case you did not know it Elvis is still the higest paid entertainer in the world, well Elvis' estate is. It earns over $20 million dollars a year.

Putting up money to invest in Elvis or even the flying Elvi for that matter Is a choice but when dealing with these un known sites/addresses you need more than a receipt that says 'Roger, wilco, over and out' especially if you are in the 'up and up' and go by avail info. there are thousands of wrong addresses an it is virtually impossible to filter out 'items/sites' while staying on the ethical side of things.
'I received a new battery for an old laptop and it is always nice to have something that might work.

well good news and bad news on the elvis head it works ok and looks cool . the bad news is that i thought that talking through the mic it would lipsinc and move the animatronics it doesnt . all that is for is so that you can sing along with elvis or turn down the elvis volume so you can sing . i am using an old ac dc adapter i have another dont know if that will make any difference .
i have a santa clause animated so will dig out a good adapter .
my elvis seems to be moving slow (thats why i think its the adapter ) . if i find out for sure that it will lip sinc i will post it .

If your Elvis is moving slow, that may be the reason you got it so cheap. It might be a good idea to return it while you still have time.

i just got it yesterday and i will check it with the good adapter if it doesnt work better after that then yes am getting back ahold of the guy .

'UREAKA "I TRIED THE SANTA ADAPTER plug in on my elvis head AND IT WORKS FINE (thats what the problem was my old adapter i had was bad wasnt putting out enough power !! bill819 was you the person that had an animated elvis head to ?? if you are does your head lipsinc at all if you sing through elvis with a mic ?? or have you checked ?? wonder if theirs a place i can get something that would make this elvis head to make it voice activated when sound comes through the mic and if so where could i get it ??

Yes I have an Elvis head and I bought it for future purposes. It is
still in a factory sealed box and I intend to leave it that way for a few years unless something makes me change my mind. It is my understanding that Elvis lip sincs with an external mic, but I may be wrong.
I am a big collector of many different things. I collect chess software and hardware. I have about 50 chess playing machines. I also buy gold and silver coins directly from the US Mint. Then years ago I worked in a company where one of the employees was a gemologist so I, naturally got into the business of buying precious gem stones, ie. rubies, emeralds, saphires and dozens of other precious and semi-precious stones.
I must admit though that I have slowed down a bit since I retired as SS does not sretch very far.

hi Bill819 and thanks for answering today i will try to use the mic and see if elvis lipsincs . if he does lipsinc then it may only be by using the control mic (the original mic which has buttons ) and turning down or off elvis's voice .
i am only using a regular kareoke mic which works as i heard my own voice . when i first turn on the elvis it goes through a pre programmed sequence talking ( i get lonelly sometimes even in a crowd , het theirs something wrong with my lip , my mother and father both loved to sing , are you kiding me what i did was tame compared to what they do today ha ha haa, etc. later he says elvis has left the building goodby and shuts off .
so i will have to check and see if i can talk through him after that otherwise if he can actually lipsinc i may have to get an original mic (wireless i think ) which controls the controls of elvis .
bill if you know of anyone else that has one or a site maybe you can check and see if he actually lips sincs and how (if it has to be done through the original mic controls .
if i find anything i will post it .
bill it sounds like you are a collector of many things sounds like a nice collection i just hope you live in a nice safe place the way everything is getting and this economy isnt helping !

It just occured to me that there are two kinds of mics. One needs an internal battery and the other does not. Other than that I can not say. When I connected my Gemmy product it had a positive plug on both ends so all I did was plug into the speaker output of my PC and the mic input to the Gemmy product. I it worked just fine.

ok i checked after elvis went through his routine talking and then he said elvis has left the building and turned off automatically i thought maybe it went into like a sleep mode and tried the mic but apparently it shuts down completly so talking through the external mic didnt work that way .

i am now thinking it doesnt have lipsincing capability like the animated santa but after reading this feature :

am wondering id someone could make an imput jack here where the speaker wire could be hooked from the computer so that anything hal says would go through elvis and make animation and lip sinc ?

so maybe theirs some hope yet of having an first class ( and what i mean by that is a realistic looking ,eye moving mouth moving ,lip sincing animated head ) a.i. head that we can hook up to our sound on our pc and have elvis move and talk etcusing hal as our a.i system .
