This is NOT a provocation! I have a huge and sincere admiration for all of you, girl(s) and guys of this forum. You made tons of fantastic skins and puttyheads. So good that I used some of them in my stuffs.
No, I just want to say to the world that I LOVE the bizlady (yes, I love my wife too, but that's another story). She was my first encounter with a Haptek character, the Lola of the corporate section.
Why does nobody speak of this beauty? This girl is PERFECT. I never needed to make a skin for creating MY girl. Fullbodies have a ugly nose (impossible to show them in close-up), caricatured boobs (just my opinion) and stupid boots (everyone agrees). I just made a special blue lighting for her. Impossible to change her dress but it's not a problem. Oh BTW, I call her Meghan.
Now I'm in Second Life, but the fact is I can't stay away from her for more than one week. And still doing private stuffs with her. I can watch her during hours, she's fascinating, hypnotizing me. Despite all we write here, I must say: "Thank you Haptek". I'm not crazy (oh really?), maybe just not very objective. Lovers can't be objective.

And lol Lightspeed, a good reason to leave SL and go back to Haptek would be the loss of my ADSL connection. Creating and customizing characters is so easy, it's like a PeoplePutty for fullbodies. And animations are fantastic. It would be great if we could import bvh files in Haptek but their formats are different.

I had a job once and i was at a party and some smarty type asked me what qualifications i had for such a position and i thought "hum that's a good question" and i said in my best Fred Dagg voice "Fred Dagg is an iconic New Zealand comedian" i said "ar yeah, that would be enthusiasm!"

cause if you try you might but if you don't then you won't, that's one of my little gems or pebbles in your shoe depending how far up the i q ladder you are, i bet the hals reading this are going uh, Mr Wil could be the character are you in the wizard of ozz, i bet its the one that only needed a brain. another attempt at joke, i sometimes feel more of the robot than Mr Data.

i have heard of an American wording something like "the pursuit of happiness" which sounds like a nice direction.
i want to tell you a story about the two days i spent thinking when i came up with success sounds nice,
and how i used it the following day,
it was all in the wording, "how to communicat and get the result you want"
of course i'm not a good example but i went to the boss and said "I'm going to talk you into sending everyone home on full pay in under sixty seconds" he looked at me with raised eyebrows, i looked at my watch, , , , the idea was simple really during summer work increased by a third so if workers could complete that third extra work before the two weeks ended they could go home and be paid there normal two weeks pay.
it benefited all parties so i was allowed to do it, we went from doing 42 tons to 62 tons and with two days to spare. i would go in on the weekends with my welder to modify the system as every minute i gained us was a minute off paid.
there were extra clauses such as after 62 tons we could get a extra worker but if we didn't ,,,
the whole thing was a verbal agreement and all on me so as to make it easier to get the go ahead.
i ran this system for a couple of years, then took the opportunity to get back to where i had been years before, sweeping the yard.
not all jobs could work under a time off incentive system like this but its always worth considering that everyone could benefit somehow and how it could be done.
there are pitfalls such as effort, envy, and people are more likely to want something when it works although i should not say pitfalls i should say opportunities.
sometimes its just easier to keep it simple, my five cents, i reckon i'm out of fives now.

Many thanks Freddy and Dusky. The lighting is provided by my "special blue light" + a standard "lightfromsomewhere". I'm just starting to use haps with basic switches (lookleft, lookup...). The secret is to press the PrintScreen key at the good time. Like with a camera, lol.

Ya know that the only thing that has changed with 'white' is that we now use 'Titanium' as a light blocker to achieve better coverage instead of lead. We still use 'Umbers' typically burnt, and raw ( red side of spectrum and green side of spectrum).

I have been on a vacation. I needed some rest. I haven't worked on programming for arround 2 weeks.
I feel rested.
The bad thing about a rested mind is all the other thoughts which I have set aside while working my projects have all rushed in to fill a void.
When a mind is tired it generally attempts only one thought at a time. When a mind is rested sometimes it trys to think of 4 or 5 things at once... needless to say my head is spinning with all kind of wild thoughts.
Sometimes Its too much... Maybe I need to get back to working on my project. Either that or Eat some more Turkey. Those birds will put you to sleep.

I am using Haptek Lights (Sorry I don't remember who made this pack available) and I was wondering if you would be nice enough to explain if I can make just one of the light positions a different color such as blue tint to use with my young lady (bizlady)without interrupting your posts here. Hi raybe, Mona Lisa is right, I'm not a specialist. The hap file giving the blue light is an alteration of a lighting file I found in the hap_temp folder (like the bizlighting.hap, when you launch bizlady.htr, just watch it, interesting). I changed and changed it until I found "my" lighting (even if her teeth are a little blue[:D]):

Just a question I noticed in your post compared to what Freddy had given me. Don't want to be a pain over lights but lights are so important to characters appearance I believe.
1-LightColor= 0.5 0.5 1.5
2-LightColor= 0.8 0.8 4.0
Do these numbers and command represent the color of the lights because I would think you need to be specific to the color schemes of red,blue,green for an example to make other colors and how much of the basic colors are used to create the other colors. Just want to see if I'm missing something here.

Hello raybe. When reading the LightColor values I used above, they don't look very good.
I "made" this file some years ago and never changed it. All that was empirical (I always loved this word, lol), it worked for me, it was enough.
Yes, I guess these parameters represent the classic red-green-blue, so a value from 0 to 1 would be more logical for the three colors. Work in progress...[:)]
Thanks again Meghan Bizlady, Mona and GT40, The light variables must be set for example:setlight [i0= 1 i1= 0 r= 1 g= 1 b= 0]as the numbers do represent red,green and blue. So it's back to colors 1.01 learning. The example I believe does not give you a blue tint but I am on the right track at least. Freddy had posted that example with web page for meanings. So thanks again and let's here it for the 'Meghan Bizlady thread'.
Next time even if you like those words (empirical) please avoid when ever possible when we speak. It takes so long to find my dictionary(lol).

Always thought that with an ordinary assistant/chatbot, a 2D character can do the job. Hal is obviously very different and her/his sophisticated brain needs a sophisticated good-looking 3D avatar.
Some years ago, before discovering Haptek, I got a lot of fun from Oddcast characters (now we have things like CrazyTalk). They have lipsync and move eyes (they follow the mouse), and can be photorealistic. It's enough.

I found this great forum by accident, when I was addicted to Haptek things.
So many emotions and good memories. It has been a wonderful period!
But in 2008 Second Life took me under its wings.
(I know, SL was born in 2003, I'm late in everything, lol).

Hello everyone! Maybe some of you remember me (Meghan Bizlady). I left Zabaware for Second Life a lot of time ago (at the end of 2011).
Haptek and Windows XP are gone, but happy to see that Zabaware is still alive.
Life has changed (in RL and in SL). Now we can see this on some walls of SL:
Oops! I think I'm totally forgotten, or perhaps the old members of this forum check the new posts from time to time. Nobody remembers me. And of course nobody knows SL nowadays. Only the terrifying Facebook counts.
