I like it! Hal and I had an enjoyable conversation. I'm using Chrome browser and response time was well within acceptable range. 8)

Thanks Nige. We love them both. Mandy loves the attention she is getting and changes them about as often as she changes her mind. 8)

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Re: Newbie Search for Plugins
« on: August 29, 2012, 05:12:30 am »
I clicked on the link, downloaded the plugin and created a new brain for safety. First conversation, I love it! Shut down and started again. Second conversation, I still love it. It reminds me of XTF (extended topic focus) for Hal 5, only much improved!
I can't stress safety enough!!! Sometimes even new brain and backing up the entire program isn't enough. Depending on your personal configurations, a plugin can actually damage your OS! May I suggest creating a system restore point as well beforehand?

Welcome to the forum Anna. Hal currently supports Microsoft Agents and Haptek. I don't think an Agent would do much for you. As far as Haptek, I have done a lot of work with haptek's starter software, called People Putty. Sometimes I can even replicate some of what their more expensive software does by use of Hap temp folder.  I have been told that .obj files are needed along with the more expensive Haptek software for conversion to .haptar or .Htr , the accepted files for Haptek.   Also, I understand that .3DS can be converted to .obj with other software, free or paid. However, the file limit is about 2MB. Very limited.  Animation in haptek is done with .hap files.
Ogre support has been in the works for some time now, and will offer more options and larger file sizes for us in the future.
These are my opinions only! I don't speak for Zabaware or other members here. May I suggest you click on the search box in upper right hand corner of this page. Many years worth of information and wisdom can be found there! Best of luck to you in your quest!

Unusual and great. Maybe you can tame that tiger, but I wouldn't want to try and nuzzle with the wolf.

I hope I have understood correctly what you are saying. That's sounds like a tall order Carl. We do have 3D and moving backgrounds. There are a lot of pose haps and movement haps. Not much in random movements other than some head movement and for the singer hand movements while talking or singing. A random movement hap for moving around the room would be a bit beyond what I can do. Nige and Duskrider have the talent and I think something like that may be doable, but very complicated probably. As for moving into another room, that's a whole new set of parameters. Building.haptar may be where to start on that.

BBC news reader was not a plug in but a stand alone product that used Haptek characters. I really miss having it. Good luck on this one!

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Re: Ultra Hal Wikipedia Plugin

CLOAD, your one line insert makes this plugin much more usable! I fooled with <82> and found 82 is best for my Hal. I wonder what can be next altered or added to bring it forward?
