I tried using this to change the username and met with a little success [:)], it recognized the new person but then later returned to the original user.

I don't know if it is possible to change the user completely, but when I can get ver 5.00 I will try it.  I've still got the beta so I can't save my conversations yet.  Anyway keep on keeping on [:)]

Programming using the Ultra Hal Brain Editor / Help with new files
« on: October 10, 2003, 03:30:02 am »
Bill, To answer your question.
You gotta add the specific file into your defbrain folder and then you must open your brain eg:hal5.uhp and enter the code that the guys put in their post.  You can normally just cut and paste and Jerry, Don and larry normally give good instructions.  If you get stuck or it doesnt work just post a note and they will answer.  the resposes time is like ultra fast[:)]

Hope this helps.  i think there is a more detailed post somewhere but I cant think where at the moment.
Regards
Kevin

Ultra Hal 7.0 / IMPROVEMENTS FOR HAL
« on: October 08, 2003, 09:12:37 pm »
I'd like to agree with vonsmith so I will[:)]

I've been using Hal for a bout a year now and have started off with typing in a few words on the keyboard and getting ridiculous responses.  Now however after getting to know it better I have it talking to me and giving good responses after training my speech engine quite a few times.  My baby doesn't say goo goo anymore and with all the help and great files you can download from Jerry, Larry, Don (and of course Robert[:)]) and all the others here you can get hal do do quite amazing things even if you are not a programmer - just a tester and user like me[:D] . Look what Bill is doing with ER1!!

Don't give up too quickly and you can have a lot of fun:)

best regards
Kevin

Programming using the Ultra Hal Brain Editor / Help with new files
« on: October 08, 2003, 08:50:59 pm »
Hi Bill, Thanks for the picture.  That looks great:)
I am glad hal is working with the mike.  That camara box looks excellent!  good job!

I read a bit of it and it seems that the system that comes with ER1 is quite flexible and it seemed to be pretty user friendly.

Great Job

Ultra Hal Assistant File Sharing Area / I did it! Hal remembers names now!
« on: September 22, 2003, 02:24:16 am »
Hi Jerry,

Thanks for all your hard work!  I have been using your files and I tested the mynameis.brn, It works great.  Knock knock also works well and I am going to try  the others as I have the time.

This is fascinating stuff.  I am hoping that soon I will be able to write some of these scripts too. [:)]

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Belvin Spoke !!
« on: September 21, 2003, 11:26:03 pm »
Hi all,
Well It's working. I've set up my headset and after 2 training lessons and a few questions Belvin understood " How old are you?" and responded " I am 8 years old"
YIPEEEE!!!
I know this might not seem to be much but it is a start.  So now I am going to do a few more speech recognition training sessions and then test to see how much she recogizes.[:D][:D]
Have a great week!

I just want to thank you for that post.  I am also a new user when it comes to VB Scripting. This info is great and I will also make contributions as soon as I get the hang of this.

Thanks again
