We Are just speaking about HOW to create a MSAGENT CHARACTER,

REQ: Microsoft Agent Editor (ACE.exe)
REQ: PaintShop7(ANIMATION SHOP)

each character has a set of animations - assigned to a STATE
theses animations are made up of BMP's OR GIFS, The MS AGENT EDITOR
Requires EACH  animation in FRAMES of BMP.

AS long as you can create your animation into frames you will be ok.
SO ANIMATION SHOP is a usefull TOOL, as it can export frames, as BMP. From A GIF.

Transparency is the USUAL PINK!

OK I Downloaded the EVAL version of PSP5 I only installed the animation shop component!.. Its free!

I installed the MsACE Free TOO.

I Opened a Quality GIF on my PC and opened in the animation shop
On Each Frame I exported a Numbered BMP (for ordering)

I opened MSACE.
created a new character.
New Animation linked to STATE.
Insert Frame From Images, Selected all of the Exported BMPS
Then i saved Character and Invoked the State with a script

Completed!

Export GIF/animation IT will give you every frame as a BMP!

I exported the animations AS HQ GIFS....
for Each Emotion / ACTION and new GIF....
Then assign it in the Microsoft ACE... here you can also Chose aCUSTOM VOICE but you also need the "SID" or CLass ID for your newley created voice

Its good to see everybody creating website sharing Links, Knowledge bases, Graphical content etc....

Look A few of the forum members are R.I.P their stuff is widely used by all members of the forum!

It would seem as a lot of Ideas are being copied / stolen used etc....

Is this a bad thing?

Is this a forum to develop Ideas.

Everybody has their thing.... some have nothing, but others work trying to earn a buck even. Thats cool TOO!

Some are even giving it away free! I love that!

some people are Gunning down others for what they are doing....thats not right.

If you dont like it KEEP your fingers to yourself and Stop Chatting S-T.

when i was creating character i found that PAINTSHOP Came with an additional program ANIMATION SHOP! Paintshop5 preety old. but it does the job!

VirtualXP can be downloaded FreeFrom microsoft. as with VirtualPC2009 Which is the VirtualXPmode (comes as an update package), this will after being installed need to be ADDED by ADD&REMOVE WINDOWS FEATURES . The VirtualXP.MSi (contains a VHD with the XP ON IT PREINSTALLED) is liscenced by YOUR windows7.... If transfered to a pc that does not have WINDOWS7 as its host it will ask for a KEY! (AND HYPERV)

IF YOUR PC CANNOT SUPPORT XP MODE.... It is also possible to do a simular thing with VIRTUALBOX (seamless too)

Windows 7 has a few problems But solvable.

If running 64-BIT.... Haptek/Zabaware or even Haptek dependent product Can be installed in XP mode (virtualPC 2009).

If this is not an option then. You can when installing the haptek right click the installer for the haptek go Property's then you goto the COMPATABILITY TAB.... Here you can choose XP servicepack RUN AS for all USERS. Now When you install it it shall be run in a compatibility mode. this being the case any product which uses the Haptek will have to also be installed as XP sp3 too. as when the program runs it will need to invoke the haptek in xp mode too!

this will also work in vista too if your having STIKY problems

Well
My first. was to create him to be an assistant to the active directory, creating users, changing passwords.... even as a NETSEND to send messages to other "HAL USERS" even to use the basic HAL "OPEN...."

now with windows 7 it seems that it is possible... without the use of third party software... a script can be sent to the powershell... and executed "Seamlessly"... this seams to be the best approach. now to get the powershell modules and execute them from VBscript... And Attaching "verbal commands" to the said scripts! and for those Extra Special ANIMATIONS....

Im Surprised that nobody has added animations to their responses with the haptek, ie when hal is giving a definition he seams serious and uses his hands to show he is explaining, also when replying in "Angry Emotive mode" Act accordingly! Although i am a msagent man myself... i havent had no time for creating characters latly...


Yes my program is a nexus for other ai's.
Initially was my attempt at reverse engineering hal. but eventually turned into something much more! and CAN contain HAL! as well as your OWN seperate VBscript brain... Which can be blankslate.. and used as a TESTING AREA for SCRIPTS....

Although purely for pleasure.... ITs a working modal.... and i would be intersted in comments... scripts to be added ETC.... willing to collaberate with other programmers working in Visualbasic6 or powershell

Adding things into the brain db... things can get lost.... How will he Re-access this data.

For this reason Each project should be undertaken. as RESPONSE.... KEYWORDS to Trigger RESPONSE / Phrases that may trigger.

Possible detect DATA from Sentence TYPE == Possible detect topic type from sentence..

Possible Scripted conversation to return data


there are many ways in which to input data into hal. but how will you retrieve that data...

I always say the scripted routines determine how smart hal really is... not the data contained within his brain... the ability to learn from conversation is the key. than when he is presented with a large amount of data perhaps even a story he can SAVE which data is relevant to his CAPTURE routines and the rest is not even saved just discarded....

So if you had a routine to detect Descriptions of OBJECTs then in any given text if an OBJECT was detected then any data describing or defining its parts or even its part in an event etc.. hal would save it.... even return the data hal has even saved previously back to the user... If requested. if not then make a general comment about OBJECT.  

this MODULE would be a basis for finding descriptions for objects etc now when presented with a large piece of data hal would add this module to his search and save parameters.


Issues to think about

As long as the data can be "Conceptually Represented" / DEFINED logically. then it can be scripted. this is where mind maps come into play...by using Mind-map software you can see or even find different ways to Save and store data for logical retrieval via databases or script. a technology used by police fbi etc. a Statement is taken from multiple party's then the information is "Analysed" for Specific data types ie: Where the event took place. Who Saw each event. Who participated in said event. Properties of the event. these would be the questions which would be the final outcome of the mass input of the witnesses statements.
