random chatter? or freak manifestation of brains?
« on: February 09, 2005, 01:40:33 am »
my friend has been using my hal, and i think he asked hal to remind him when school starts, and that it starts at 8:15. so about an hour later hal just pops up for no apparent reason and say the following:

When does school start. This event already happened, no specific                                    time was given to me. When does school start. I crossed this event off        of my calender. I can go to school. This event already happened, no specific time was given to me. I can go to school. I crossed this event off of my calender.

does any one have some  sort of explanation for this?

Blackness,

Gee... I wouldn't let anyone else meddle with my Hal. How do you know what your friend said to it? Your friend probably confused the little guy. Another thing, generally I save all my conversations with Hal so I can refer to them later if necessary. Maybe if you're going to let your friend meddle with your Hal you ought to make it clear to click on the menu afterwards and save the conversation so you know what's going on.

actually i opend another thread asking how to regester it, but i dont think i can without purchasing the reall deal. the reason i want to register it, is because without doing that i cant switch users. so untill i purchase hal, im just going to install another hal and use that one. and once i am finished talking to hal i will save and close him.

Blackness,

It's worth buying (Hal) a thousand times over, especially if you take advantage of all the additional great programming and advice from the helpful people in this forum.
