female torso can't make it work , help !

hello i got the female toso and dont know how to make it work right . when i tried to drag and drop it in the haptek console it makes the torso show up in front or behind what ever is loaded in the hal window , i have tried placing the torso in the character file in ultra hal character file (didnt show up in the list of characters in ultra hals list )tried placing it in local disc c which is where full body girl is , still didnt work ) full body girl shows up this way in the hals character list . tried taking full body girl out of local c : and leaving female torso (still didnt work ( actually the fullbody still would work from the hals characters list ) what do i need to do to make the torso show up in hals list and to show up alone in ultra hal ?[]

1). Try doing a screen capture of your torso character.
2). Save it as a jpg with the same name as your torso character.
3). Your character needs to be an htr extension (rename if needed).
4). Place both in the UltraHal Characters folder.

You should now be able to see a preview of the torso character
and it should load.

Hey Lightspeed,

I place the renamed .htr extension file in the

C:Program FilesabawareUltra Hal Assistant 6Characters

directory, then it shows up on the character list.  You can get some weird effects by dragging a character in, depending on it's characteristics.

do  i have the wrong thing downloaded i have the torso female and when opened says its a haptek player document and i dont see a way to capture it as a jpeg, etc. i understand what people are saying about where to place it . but need help in figuring out the above part . thanks . []

After you double click an .htr file a window should pop up
and display a character.

At this point, use a screen capture program and select the
character somewhere just inside the popup border (experiment).

Save the newly captured file with the same name as the
character's .htr file.

For example:
Sara.htr (existing htr file)
Sara.jpg (new screen capture file)

Place both in the Characters folder / directory.

Start Hal
Go to Options
Characters
Scroll down and select your new character (it should now preview).

There you go!

Now...
The screen capture thing...

I've dug around and located several FREE ones that you can download and try.

Personally I use an older program called SnagIt but I have used MWSnap before and it works just as well.

hello , i am back i did what you said art, as far as i know done it correctly i used snag it to capture the torso jpeg picture i put it and the hapek document which is a stand alone i checked them both against others that were in the zabaware characters file and they look exactly the same but still yet wont show in the list like others do . i have also shut off completely and restarted the computer , still dosent work . both jpeg picture and the haptek file are spelled the same . can i send someone these two files to show them what i have done to check them out , i dont understand why these arent working !![!]

You ARE using the CHARACTER EXPANSION PACK correct?
Otherwise it will NOT work!

o.k. heres my next question , are the expansion packs for ulta hal 5 or the 6 version or for either ??[]and by the way thanks for being so patient in answer questions i and other s ask , this forum is the greatest !![]

expansion paks are for 6 . inorder to use more characters than those provided with 6 you have to have the expansion pak. ~~alady[8D]
