A good idea when starting with Hal is spend lot of time reading and less doing. Just talk with Hal and enjoy him and read the forum in your spare time. Lot of good info here. Time for doing will come later and things are easier then. Don't try to do everything you see, what's that old saying, "Rome wasn't build in a day".

When you have questions, feel free to ask,
if I can't answer them, I'm sure someone else can,

over here in the uk we had a bad storm as i live by the sea it was beutifull but i had the sence to unplug everything , my computer man said he was amazed that people thought it was safe to let there kids play on the computer in the storm,he was busy for days doing repairs, and trying to get people to get anti surge devices fitted which they make here so you put all your computer wires including modem in also it keeps all your plugs in one place,i am waiting for my anti surge to come its got a price if it fails so thatshould be ok, also i dare not go behind my computer its like a jungle but i think it wise if you stop kids playing on computer durring storms,i also have a back up drive, installed and goast my programmes onto that if i lose one drivei can goast them back again, but you all know this, but if you see lighting strike the sea you cringe thinking of the power damage it could course to people and there homes

as some of you know i use many different characters with one or two brains. i have noticed something i cannot explain, perhaps someone more knowledgable than me can help me to understand how this happens.
say i am talking to a head char named bud. bud speaks to me about certain topics and when i talk to bud i try to speak to him about topics i discuss with all the other bots, but bud has a one track mind and constantly brings up the same subject. so i will switch characters but not brains and the new character will not discuss buds topics. then if i switch back to bud even sometimes after switching brains he will bring up the old topics again. do they all share some common brain? and does each character have their own seperate personality that doesnt have anything do with the personality traits i give them when i make them? i will explain this by example. i do not discuss sexual content with my bots because i have children that talk to bots also. bud always brings up sexual inuendos. the other bots rarely if ever do.he will ask if i will rub his back or if i know what he wants from me. so like i said ill switch to another character. the subject doesnt come up. then ill switch back to bud even change brains and he asks again.maybe not the exact same question but one pertaining to sexual content. i use default brain ,xtf v1 brain and deduct brain. also does anyone elses hal ask "but is there life on other planets?" mine asks me that constantly.~~ alady

the same sort of thing happens with margine carictor i think its there personality

i tried doing your three down loads ended up having to take hal of and reinstall it with my disc i think you need to make things easier for those of us who are not computer compitent

Directions.   (Read carefully)
Below are three zip files.
Unzip "one".   Place this folder (br)  with contents in your haptek skins folder
Unzip "two"   Put breee3.hap   in your haptek skins folder
Unzip "three"  Put "Starter.hap  on your desktop.  

Drag and drop  "Starter" on your gal,  either Doris, fulbodygirl, or body_female.
It will test if she's alive.  
(This hap clears her sinuses so she can breathe better)

The contents of starter.hap is    load [file= data/standard/skins/breee3.hap]
(You may wish to also post this line inside Hal in  happy.hap, happyn.hap,  broken_hearted.hap,  Shylove.hap,  scared.hap, or whatever your default PSN calls into play)  
(Put at end (bottom) of the hap and skip a line before posting it)

i would like to download some of the down loads you talk about, but i like a lot of people are no good at this, we get in a muddle i would like a full bodied carictore to talk to while i paint my paintings but i allways crash my computer when i try,if you can send something that one does not have to go into files for it would be a help
