Neil, I'm sorry, yes I did get the email, and I tried to post it here for you but it failed on me also, between setting up my web server, working on Haptek clothing, answering emails and work I've gotten way behind.

Actually that was originally one of Crunch's textures that I altered, must give Crunch his fair share of the credit too.

Jim, mentally I'd have to agree with ya, I did go away for the weekend  :)

I've managed to create a strapless bra and a dress for her but they still need alot of fine tuning, having to do it all in 3DS Max and only have the Head as a model makes it hard to align everything, I'll more than likely have to spend the $$ and get the full body wireframe. I posted a link to the strapless in my earlier post, I'll add for the dress in this one so everyone can see how it's looking. Any ideas are always welcome.

So far it looks like I'll have to completely re-do the object, so can't say for sure when it'll be finished.

Rog, you're alot better than me by a long shot,
I changed several of the RLTranslateX, RLTranslateY & RLTranslateZ sections from the crouchState down and she still falls off the screen, my guess is I'm either missing one somewhere or you are using a different def.hap than I am, the one I'm using is called body_femaleDef.hap and it's from the body_female.htr that's 1.01mb. If at all possible maybe you can upload the def that you edited. Keep up the Great work.

What are 2D and 3D characters?
Can I create my own character to use in Hal?

And with all the people now using Haptek characters, questions like:
What are Haptek characters?
How are Haptek Characters different from MS Agent Characters?
What are textures?
How do I edit/create textures?
Why can't I use my favorite texture on a different Full Body Character?

And there are also alot of people with questions about Haptek's pricing and Licensing, and getting answers from them is tough.

most of them I was aware of, a few that I wasn't, the only animating I've worked on myself is for the Full Body Female (1.01mb/3.42mb version) in which I make her turn, walk off screen, change clothes, then walk back on screen and turn. I had to do it in 3 steps tho.

Step 1:

It works about 80% of the time, if I open Hal and try it immediately it usually messes up, if I open Hal and wait a minute then type in my command it usually works perfectly. I haven't been able to get the Clock timing right yet to be able to make it work in 1 step.

Further Note: While I was looking through the Def.hap for the 3.42mb I found some interesting switches that should be neat but I can't get them to work, Below is the ones I can't figure out.

lupine, "Doris" is the Full Body Female that Haptek shows on their Full Body Page that is standing next to the "TV Girl" (the one that has the Red & Black jumper and Boots) as they call her, I put her on one of my web sites in case someone needs her.

and it was Rog (freddy888) that stated that he got the Fullbod (Doris) to lay down on the floor, but didn't show what command he used to do it. As for the Animation Commands, I'm sure they'll be helpful to many people so feel free to upload the list.

Jim, looks like we found a "bug" in Haptek  :)  could be interesting to see what things can be done by creating a blank text file with like a command for the name.

Jim, that is pretty neat, I just tried the same with the body_female (1.01mb) and it does the same thing except the file name needs to be body_femaleMap.

I also tried something that's neat, I created a new text file and named it professional1.jpg and dropped it on the 4.46 and it did the same thing.

from what I found:
Allison, Betty, Claire, Heather, Pamela, Rosie, and full_female are all created from the same body.
fantasydemo, vgirl, and wip are from the same body.
maria, mermaid, and sara are from the same body.
the rest are from different bodies.
And it appears that the fullbod.htr 1.47mb/4.46mb version is the best for animations. I hope this information is helpful.

I finally received an email from Haptek regarding my order, I'm supposed to get the Accessory Converter today, in which case I plan on doing some "real" clothing for them. So keep yer eyes open for some goodies  :)

I went through all of the full body females that I have and used the query command "current figurename" to find out what everyone was. Here is my list.

And it was me that renamed my modest ones, I renamed each to correspond with the Character name from the page. The next task will be to open the hap_temp on each one and check out the Def.hap files and look at the "Model=" line and see what the .OBJ file was for each which will tell for sure which ones are the "same" full bodies.

lupine, you're welcome and Thanks for the offer with animations, I have figured out quite a bit, thanks to many of the good people here and the SDK, the rest all trial and error, I wouldn't go so far as to even think that I surpassed anyone, as for the modestfemale,the actual name of the texture she has on is called professional.jpg, all of the modest textures and bodies that I've seen all have the extra area around the neck, there are so many different Full Body Females it's hard to tell which is which. What needs to be done is to open every one of them and use the query command "current figurename" which will show the "True" name of that Full Body Female, I did it with the 2 I refer too in this topic, the 3.42mb body_female.htr says it's the body_female, and the 4.46mb fullbod.htr says it's the fullbod. I haven't animated any modestfemale.htr I don't have any with that name, unless someone changed the filename, I'll go through all of mine and verify the true names for them.

Jim, thanks for the assistance, I do hope it's ok for a newbie member to call you by name.

Anyways I'm still quite new to Haptek, I do have a great deal of knowledge of many things, such as computers, automotive, electrical, plumbing, gas, electronics, general home repair and so on, but I'm still an amateur when it comes to A.I, VB, VBS, all scripting languages more or less. I just catch on to some things easier than others do as well as never catch on to things that others can. That's just how my mind works, visualizing is easy, doing is a whole nother story.

Marius, I do recall seeing the script that you are referring to, but if I remember right the way it functions it'll change the outfit per mood change, but what I'm thinking is a bit more involved, not only changing because of mood, but what day of the week it is, what time of day, is it a holiday, has she worn the outfit lately, and then decides to or not to change and into what. Something I'm sure that will end up having to be a true Database, meaning I'll have to wait until the new Hal comes out.

Jim, Thank You, actually I never tried it on her, but you're right, I mainly just use the 3.42mb with the boots, I spose I could create another one tho that is more fitting for the 4.46.

Rog, Thanks, yeah I smacked myself in the forehead and said DUH, all the commands I've tried from the Def.hap file and all the hap files I did for outfit changes I new it needed the backslash but when I went to try them I just copy-pasted, I use Agent Ransack to search text files, and I did a search for switch=attax and didn't find any, I just did a search for attax and this time it found attax, armattax, & legattax. What I did in the past was I opened the body_femaleDef.hap and did a search for setswitch and copy-pasted all the commands and then tried them all, needless to say hours of work. I have my Marie now start to walk and turn right and walk off the screen to change outfits, changes her outfit, then she turns around (off screen) and walks back to where she started, stops walking and twists back to facing forward. Had to write it into 3 hap files tho.

I keep trying to come up with new ways to do things, trying to give "her" as many "personalities" I can. Eventually I'll work on a script that will change her outfits to fit her mood, season, and down the road change for day & night wear. Maybe I'll get lucky tho and someone will get to doing that before I do and make it easier on me  :)

I was forgetting the backslash, they do work on the body_female.htr 3.42mb also. And I also need to correct myslef on another point, I was wrong about being the first to do leg warmers, Crunch beat me to it, found that out when Maviarab sent me the textures. I've found that the Def.hap (body_femaleDef.hap for the 3.42mb & fullBodDef.hap for the 4.46mb) has most of the setswitch commands that they can do, I haven't figured out yet where the ones freddy found are located tho.
