I was wondering is there a way to make hal know how long you have been gone and say something like I missed you or why have you been gone for so long just a thought caangel

There is a variable in the script for when the last response was given, so it's possible. Someone has used that to make a "loneliness" plugin that you can probably find.

I'm working on making Hal able to discuss topical news stories.

Well, thank you, but the real truth is that I'm good at searching the internet for code snippets to adapt to my purposes. I'm still trying to figure out how some of my plugins work!8-)

Hopefully, by the time I am tired of this and move on to something else, I will be fairly good at writing scripts.

BTW, did you notice that someone else mentioned the loneliness plugin for another reason and provided a link for it?

Well, you may not know then, that you can click on the "Active Topics" link at the top right of any page on this forum and book mark that. Then, any time you go there the most recent posts are picked out for you. That way you don't have to look around for new posts.
