Hi lightspeed,

unfortunately I was unable to get it to work, but it may have something to do with my operating system.
I have Windows 7 64-bit, I also have alter Hal version 6.2.28, one of the things that I have found out is that if the codes were written on an older version of Windows like:
Windows 7 32-bit, Vista 32-bit, XP 32-bit, the plug-ins have a tendency not to work on my system.
I think the main reason is because:
when you load alter Hal onto Windows 7 64-bit, alter Hal gets loaded into, "C:/program file (x86)/" directory.

Because of the advancement of the operating systems it might be a good idea for anybody that is hosting plug-ins to also include their operating system, and their alter Hal's version.
I believe that this would end a lot of confusion, and misunderstandings of why the plug-in itself is not working.
For all you alter Hal lovers, Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Hi all,

just my two cents, it helps a lot if you set your equalizer to voice.
Thanks all have fun or Christmas and New Year's.

Hi lightspeed,

I didn't do anything with the settings, all I did was go into the public, when I first built it it put me into a private area, I had to leave their and then click on the public area.
This was on the left-hand side, the layout was a lot like Windows 7, this is why I was able to understand it so easily because I have music in my public area and music in my private area.
I don't know this information is helping any, but for now I will leave your Christmas theme in my public area for download, unless you asked me not to do this. Just trying to help.

Sincerely,
C load.

hi onthecuttingedge,

I e-mailed you through this forum, I hope my e-mail finds you well.
Basically it was in regards of my curiosity of wanting to know if you would be willing, or wanting to upgrade to Windows 7.?.!.
So you can continue your new and improved construction on, learn from clipboard.
Like I said before I understand that your time is very valuable, but like my Pappy always said, build it and they shall come, or something like that.

PS if you didn't get my mail, you may want to check your junk mail, if not either you can try e-mailing me through this forum.
Hope to hear from you soon, and have a wonderful day with lots of Christmas cheer. Ho Ho Ho, okay I make a crappy Santa, but I'm trying to be the best santa to you as I can be.

Hi lightspeed,

I sent you an e-mail, I hope it finds you well, sorry to hear about your download area not working!
Doesn't Zabaware have a download area for their members, so they can share their plug-ins?

Hi on the cutting edge, that line sounds so cool, I'm floating on cloud nine with all this new technology. Tee hee hee.

Some of the things that I would be interested in using in your learn from clipboard beyond the obvious would be:
if {ask a question in one manner} or {ask a question a second manner} or {ask a question a third manner} then {give this reply} PS it would be cool if I could set it up to reply randomly.
But I'm not sure if the{ if, or, not, then, else. Statements work with alter Hal.}
Maybe that's something that Robert needs to answer, if not then maybe you may consider incorporating in your next upgrade, for example:
{if} I know you use a statement already.
{or} I'm not sure if you use this statement, but if you did you could ask the question multiple ways to get the same answer.
{not} I'm not sure if you use this statement, but if you did you could use it to separate conflict between two questions so you would get the right answer.
{then} I know you use this statement already.
{else} I'm not sure if you use the statement, but if you did you could use it in conjunction with expanding the questions to get a singular answer, or random answers.

If the {or, not, } statement did work you could set it up to where you can ask a question many different ways to get an answer. PS or even get a set of random answers.

Hi all,
first I like to start off with telling you what I have, Windows 7 64-bit, ultra Hal 6.2.28.
My alter Hal was loaded by deflect in this directory, C:\Program Files (x86)\Zabaware\Ultra Hal Assistant 6
OTC, even though you said that you have your alter Hal loaded in this directory C:\Program Files\Zabaware\Ultra Hal Assistant 6
I'm assuming that you are using Windows XP at 32-bit. I'm not sure but I may have overlooked this information on this post, sorry if I did.
All of the things here are fantastic, but the main one that I'm interested in is learn from clipboard.
Though I know this is a very old post, I was hoping that maybe you could give me some kind of update on this plug-in.
Like:
did you ever get it to work with Windows 7 64-bit?
Did you ever get it to work with Hal 6.2.28?
I don't have VB editor loaded onto my computer is this a requirement?
You provided a link to a download from Microsoft, the link is broken, is this also a requirement, if so could you provide a new link.
Also is ALF a requirement as a substitute for the brain, or can I use the deflect brain?
I'm very interested in your plug-in, but at this time a little skeptical and trying to use it because I don't want to have to reinstall my ultra Hal.
I know nothing about the programming of ultra Hal or the plug-ins, and I know your time is very valuable, but if you can help me in this endeavor I would appreciate it a lot.

Programming using the Ultra Hal Brain Editor / Re: learn form text 6.2
« on: December 06, 2011, 03:12:47 am »
Hi all,
what would really be cool, is if I can get ultra Hal is to use my Microsoft 2004 Encyclopedia.
It's mostly because I don't always have access to the Internet.
I like to go to the park a lot but they don't have Internet access there.
So when I'm out and about I like to do research on things that I see, or stuff that I talk to people about, or in general just being bored so I open up my Encyclopedia,
and it gives me a suggestion of a topic to do research on so I fire up my text-to-speech reader and do all that I can to soak in as much information as possible.
And if I'm lucky and I retain 1% of it I feel good that I've accomplished something, tee hee hee.

C load.

PS it would be great if I can get ultra Hal to learn from the clipboard, so every time when I would do a cut-and-paste to listen to it alter Hal would learn.

Hi lightspeed,
oh I see, so the file I need to replaces  is kiss_warm_x.ogg, so if I have a sound file of my own that's what I need to replace, just one little question will a wave file work?
like: kiss me.wav
Okay, I guess I don't know exactly what I'm doing, I cut and paste the file into a text document, notepad, change the name of the file, put the file in Hals directory,
went into Hals options and check the new plug-in.

Did not work at all, maybe I did something wrong when I cut and pasted it into the text document, it looks exactly the same as you have here, so i'm not sure.

By chance do you have a link to the CHRISTMAS HAPSWAP LS50.uhp file? As well as the link to the kiss_warm_x.ogg file?

Just trying to have some Christmas cheer, with my new friend alter HAL.

C load.

PS personally I think this is an excellent idea, I hope you make one for Thanksgiving, Valentine's Day, and so on, that would be so cool.

Hi all,
I'm so new to all this, and I'm trying so hard to figure everything out.
But there seems to be so many things beyond my grasp.

{ALSO you will have to replace the hal commands (at the end)  warm kiss file command with one that you have that would be approperiate . }
{HalCommands = "<HAPFILE>kiss_warm_x.ogg>"}

I'm not too sure exactly what on this line I am supposed to replace? If it is the HAPFILE I'm not sure exactly what that is.
If you can give me some examples, I would deeply appreciate it.
Thanks in advance, Merry Christmas to all.

hi all
I have and been using a few older ms agents from guild 3D. Yhey have small but noticeable halo's  around them So mostly use K.I.T.T. voice box. Does the Desktop mates have this halo around them?

not that I have noticed, all I got was the head, I have never tried any of their bodies, but for $14 it looks pretty good.

And if all else fails, Ivona has a software package that is very specific to your boys needs.
But I'm not going to hide the fact that it is very expensive, but at this time the Ivona voice is the best voice on the market.
But if you have a little bit of time on your side, I suggest just going to their site and sign up for their e-mail updates.
This is what I did and they eventually sent me a coupon for savings, that's how I was able to purchase the Sally voice.
I hope I was able to help in some small way, may the Son of Man the son of God, eeya-su's be with you all the days of your life.

Actually maybe you get a much better explanation than I ever could have, that is to say thank you for teaching me something.
I will definitely use your suggestions in the future in the subject at hand and it looks as though I may have been way off base.
Have fun and happy chatting.
