people putty video

when interacting with people putty, the character is constantly moving. i imagine this is a 'video loop' of sorts that keeps repeating itself. does anyone know the duration of the loop? i.e., does anyone know how long the 'video' plays before it starts all over again?

Its not really a video as such, so it won't come to an end.  The characters have a range of emtions and settings that are used to generate a continually 'live' image.  The Player updates, tweaks, dampens, heightens and all manner of things to get the character seeming more real.

I hope that helps, when I came to explain it I couldn't find the words, also I just re-realised how good that is :)

I just remebered Docs Trance.hap which is on this forum and also at Digital girl, that freezes her, it might be of use to you perhaps.  Try a search here or look here on DG:

thanks for the reply. just to clarify...
so then, to your knowledge, there is no repetition? the video (for lack of a better term) continuously changes and never loops?

As far as I know it isn't scripted to run a certain loop no, I think it picks random patterns. Anyone else shed some light?

From what I have been able to interpret, the
program does follow a very extended loop but
with randomizing sub-routines which activate,
cause a random action then return to the normal
extended loop pattern. But, no it is not a
looped video, the actions/emotions/movement
you are observing is due to the haps being
constantly fired off by the loop program and
its randomizing subs.

Of course that is just my best "guess" after
having looked at the programs lines of code.[:)]
