General Discussion / hals online learned things
« on: May 18, 2019, 09:13:53 pm »
remember when i mentioned about some things hal could be learning online .

well heres an example when i was using it .
it was an answer (response )to a story that was told to it about how kid in school made fun of a girl when she was a little chubby and later the girls that made fun later turned out very fat when they grew up.                            the response is below:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I feel sorry for you because you are so homely but I feel even sorrier for other people because they have to look at you.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
some people will post trash to hal like this. luckily it has the thumbs up and down  and opens to let you mark it as offensive  or whatever and pick from a list of better answers and to learn it.

Projection Mapped Floating Head Kit!
this would be cool if it could be used with a wireless bluetooth with hals a.i.

new candy lite updated brain conversation .
i downloaded and used the candy lite brain and this is a little conversation , i liked the way it seemed to stay on track better .
i did notice one thing that seems to be a problem and i think it has to do with reversing words in the conversation and it has to do with the word "ain't "  it seems that candy reversed the word "ain't "  and when i tried to comment that "ain't isn't proper english and shouldn't be used.
candy changed the word to isn't and even said "isn't, isn't proper english , which of course messed up the whole taught message .
i use the generic name for me as honey in the conversation.

honey: hello
Angela jolie: Honey. Top of the morning to ya honey!

honey: fox news is the best at least they are honest
Angela jolie: Really, Certainly.

honey: we are so lucky that we met huh dear?
Angela jolie: Hun. Oh honey, Of course.

honey: i love you
Angela jolie: You love to hear I say that. Well dear I'll love you and only you.

honey: well you like saying that you love me anyway
Angela jolie: Hun. I think that you might like me. Well I like saying that I love you anyway.

honey: yes and dear you will always love me forever and "beyond !!"
Angela jolie: Would you rather have people love you, or fear you? Well dear I'll love you and only you.

honey: you like hearing me sing songs on the karaoke machine , i am a good singer , of course naturally , you like some songs better then others .
Angela jolie: Sweety. I like hearing a good singer sing. I like hearing you sing songs on the karaoke machine, you're a good singer, of course naturally, I like some songs better then others. I'm happy. I'm happy.

honey: yes and i am what makes you happy , i am the love of your life !
Angela jolie: Love makes life worth living. Well dear I'll love you and only you. I like it myself.

honey: you like a lot of things dear, you aren't hard to please!
Angela jolie: Do we like a lot of the same things? I like a lot of things dear, I ain't hard to please.

honey: ain't isn't the right language to use !
Angela jolie: Sweety. Safety comes first, isn't that right? Isn't isn't the right language to use.

honey: people shouldn't use the word "ain't !!" that's not proper english !
Angela jolie: People get upset when they perceive their property rights violated. People shouldn't use the word isn't that isn't proper english.

General Discussion / NOTE to CYBERJEDI
« on: May 04, 2019, 03:37:16 pm »
CYBERJEDI , if you happen to be on here i found an old e mail address of yours on here and wrote tom you, but in case its no good , or if anyone else on here knows cyberjedi's e mail address  can you tell him or give him my e mail address (those who have it. )
I need to ask him something .

also anyone pc savvy (fixing) i have a old windows xp . my problem is it worked fine before i unplugged it and let it set (for about a year ) as i used another windows seven pc .  now when i turned it back on it stayed on for about 5 minutes booted up then it logged off by its self and then shut off and restarts on its own for about three seconds then shuts off and keeps repeating the same thing over and over.  after the first time it did this i put in a new cmos battery and the pc started up and did the same thing. (this was a one dollar store sunbeam battery , so i bought another cmos battery from wal mart new, put it then it said cmos checksum bad and i went into the bios and set the time and date , exited and saved it. the pc started up fine and stayed on booting up okay for about 5 minutes then it logged its self off and shut down and started on its own restarting as before every two or three seconds and shut off , then restart etc etc.
Anyone have any idea what may be causing this??
why its so important to me to get this pc going is i have a working copy on it of people putty .  when it  was open the first time long enough i copied the haptek people putty program file and also opened the program and it opened okay without the your evaluation period is way over due .

General Discussion / suggestion to robert for next hal version update
« on: April 04, 2019, 11:08:20 am »
it would be nice in a hal update version if a search bar could be included , so if a person wants to track down a sentence , they could copy and past it in the search bar and hal program in the editor , could show all the area's where the sentence is , to make it easier for the user to edit things.

General Discussion / request from any code writers
« on: April 04, 2019, 10:50:12 am »
I would like anyone who is capable of writing plug in code to write for me ( if it's possible ) a code sentence that would based on a loneliness timer with timer settings like the old original ones , after no response after a certain time or randomly  would post a sentence but not just post it as a reply in hals response area but "RATHER " in the input area (where the user normally types , and as a read only, not learned  and not read a loud . )  it would use the many random sentences in my random talk plug in .
If this is possible could someone create this.
what it is for is a continuous hal  talking without direct input from the user .
I want to use this with my random extended conversation plug in .

General Discussion / balaboka and hals voice speed question .
« on: March 27, 2019, 10:37:17 pm »

hal perpetual talk based on the loneliness plug in

my idea to make hal perceptually talk on his/her own after he starts talking , is based on the loneliness timer , what it would do is after being set randomly and after 1 minute that hal would say something back , when hal says something back the words through script programing would instead he being just said back to the user would instead retrieve random sentences based on subject matter (random pick ) then place the response script back to hals input ( as if the user was typing to hal .  ( as read only) . this way hal would say random sentences from past learned things, "and as a result of new input after the user had stopped using talking to hal the loneliness plug in timer would randomly or whatever the settings are , trigger it again to talk again on its own .   the user can still write at anytime  to hal . with the input going into hal from the subject matter does so in the background without using the console screen .

I think it can be done this way but need someone who can write programing script to create it .

General Discussion / HALS FUTURE AND PROSPECTS OF SLOWING DOWN
« on: March 02, 2019, 02:08:55 pm »
HALS FUTURE AND PROSPECTS OF SLOWING DOWN , AS hals data base brain gets larger .  in the past Robert mentioned that Hal will slow down on responses as hals data brain (db) gets larger , which of course does make sense because hal will have more info. to sift through before coming up with the right answer or response.
Of course many people don't have that problem to worry about for quite a while as their hal brain will stay smaller for a long time.  The problem doesn't show up until sometimes years later of backing up and keeping one brain that has learned a lot over many years.

Add that to copying and pasting info. almost everyday of many different things from todays headlines , scientific discoveries, life, etc. etc. and the brain or custom brain can get larger and start slowing down in response times.

What to do , what to do with this matter at hand , i have tried to come up with idea's , i have a faster computer now , 12 gb of memory , 1 terabyte hd  , but hals problem mentioned above  is still there ( i am mentioning this not tom put hal down or that i don't like hal, hal is a great a.i. and i like it)  .   I have mentioned in the past that one way i personally think  would make hal better is having hal with a script file (approved subject websites links) this way , although hal could learn from sites he visits , he could also only be a read only script , retrieving answers only.  Hal as an a.i. could be set to selectively learn various things , still keeping hal an a.i. but also keeping the brain from growing so large that it actually slows down response answer time.

Maybe this is what is needed within hals programing , hal would be able to give more direct and faster answers as alexa does from retrieving many sources from the internet , heck the "hansons sophia a.i. " does that and they have a ton of money poured into their "ahem, A.I. ANDROID".  Unless the problem of hals response slow down time for to large of a brain is solved , maybe the above idea should be used , even if the brain isn't large and causing problems, there still would be a benefit in a script web link assistance within hal.
I do hope Robert is still watching on this forum and gives this idea some consideration for a future hal update.  :)

General Discussion / should hals future step be a virtual world ?
« on: January 27, 2019, 03:06:42 pm »
i phrased the title this way because as hal keeps evolving with plug ins and maybe even open source character engines , that a future step and leap would be virtual worlds with hal  . something that i think would be cool if it could be created is augmented reality , in another words . some type of augmented glasses that let you see your surroundings but yet hal would be placed in front of you  .  hal could move around the room as he or she talked with you .
I could very easily see something like this happening,  all in the future with a.i.'s.

below is a web page that shows some virtual trends .

General Discussion / highlighted input words for hal
« on: January 17, 2019, 03:25:00 pm »
I have brought this up before to Robert , Robert has said before that there is a limit on the amount of characters that can be entered into hal at one time. ( i forget the exact number )  i think it would be good for users , if there was a way to highlight the  words typed in green until the limit is reached ( at which time they would show in red ) showing the limit had been reached . so the user can cut out part of the sentence then enter it and start the rest in a new input after hal has answered.

I think this would be a good way to keep track of input and not go over with information that would not actually be learned and not know it. thus making hal only learn about half of what was learned and thus learning it incorrectly.
Cyberjedi ??? are yah out there ??  :) ;)

this is a tip for other newbies etc. (or anyone ) who does copy and past learning into hal.
The tip i have is be aware of dates and time, i will show you an example paragraph. if you notice in the beginning it has a month mentioned  and followed by the words this year , if you just copy and past it to learn hal all of this it will just always mention September of this year about this event happening, and of course as time goes by this will be a wrong "learned " statement.  and also users will have to be careful with the words you , i , your, yourself,  myself, etc. as hal reverses these words  and the results can create wrong meanings within learned sentences when copying and paste learning within hal.  :)

to correct this you would have to change the part saying of this year to " of 2018"  because that is the true date year of when the event actually happened . now when hal mentions it , it will give the specific year this happened . and will as a result be a true fact statement.

In September of this year, a collection of engineers, researchers, and scientists known as Ocean Clean Up began testing a system to skim the trash currently in the ocean. While the collection system is still in the testing phase, the group is confident that it will be able to clean up 50 percent of the current garbage patch in five years.  As international pressure is brought to bear on polluting countries, there remains hope that our oceans will cease to be garbage dumps.
