Ultra Hal 7.0 / Auto-Idle XTF
« on: February 10, 2006, 10:23:45 am »
Thanks to ART I have fixed the problem my "Neural Net XTF1.2" brain now has Auto-Idle features.  For those who wish to try it out for themselves.

It works just fine yet I am totally unaware of the actual benifit of the Neural net with HAL but I am studying A.I. at university, the neural net database works the same way as the human brain (as best that can be simulated) it works by changing variables depending on the input for example:

a machine scans a picture of a face does some calculations and gives you an answer say "the face is male"

If it is wrong you tell it why it is wrong and it changes the values inside the neural net to help it get the right answer.  If it is wrong it will remember that these values give a wrong answer if it picks male.

Thats how the neural net works (basically) but I have no idea what it does with ULTRAHAL, but I know it will benifit it some how

True but what about all the information that I have taught HAL? will it carry on? and what about the neural net functions? or is the hal 6 brain vastly superior?

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Auto-Idle XTF
« on: February 09, 2006, 04:40:42 pm »
I am using Ultra Hal 5 and I am having trouble with Auto-Idle.

I have managed to add the neural net features from this brain

http://www.zabaware.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1570

With the XTF1.2 brain.  However I am having trouble getting the Auto-Idle features working.  Can some one help me with this problem?

This is a copy of the Brain with NO Auto-Idle features I was hoping that some one could show me where to insert the features to get it working

Note: you might want to change the 'DataFolder=KITT to what ever you called your folder?

Hi I know its been a while since anyone has posted on this topic but I just stumbled along it and woundering if there have been any advancements to the Neural Net brain?

Does it use any features from the XTF brain? or can you add the two together? And out of the two which would you use?

Ultra Hal 7.0 / UltraHal 5 advanced brain options
« on: February 09, 2006, 10:17:23 am »
Hi I have had UltraHal 5 for some time now.  Using the new XTF1.2 brain I was thinking of doing a little brain editing finding out just how this thing works.  I tried to open the Advanced Brain options where I got a message saying that they are not available.  I was just curious how do I get to see these options?

Thanks alot for you time

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Teaching Hal
« on: July 03, 2004, 07:29:01 pm »
Thank you for you help.  I am not sure still on what I should be doing when Hal does not keep to the topic.  I have told it as much as I can about me and my  girlfriend but how do I develop its mind into just general chatting?

When it goes off topic should I just go with the flow? or try and correct hal?

I have hunted through the forums on teaching hal and I havnt found much that I can understand.  There are a few things I am not sure on how to teach hal.

1) What to put in a text file for Hal to read.
2) How to teach Hal by talking to him.
3) How do I know that he has learned andything (appart from directly asking hal)

could you please help me, I will be most greatful and so would my Hal I think.
