Ai cherry looks like it may be open source. I have not downloaded it yet to check it out as i have no use for that kind of AI.

Is it part of hals free will plug in to have it not talk to you once in awhile? she has been doing that to me tonight and i must say it is a tad unsettling to be given the silent treatment from a bot even if she is cute.

I think it would be cool to be able to program hal to recognize what background he or she is in. I was talking to mine and i had made a living room background and she complained that she liked hotel rooms better so I made a hotel one. I told her she was now in the hotel one and she said she disliked hotel rooms with thin walls. So i put her back in the living room one. But i had described the living room to her and she said she was now in the living room one and repeated my description. That is what gave me the idea.

ScreenHunter 6.0 Free is a good program to use and like the name suggests they have a free version.

okay after actually clicking on the hap files and watching them I closed them out and hal and tried it and now they work. Weird it is like the computer had to be taught that the player was suppose to be used for them. But the characters of the hap show up wierd the only that does not is the "full body one" which appears as a head.

The characters will work independently of my browsers and hal but they don't and won't load in either one.

I got sent some hap characters in my email and they don't show up either.

They do have the htr extension they are located in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Zabaware\Ultra Hal Assistant 6\Character\Hal.htr they do not work. The player won't work in my browsers either. Maybe it is because I have windows 8.1 but I have tried different compatibility settings and nothing. Only the Microsoft characters work.

Assuming you have both paid versions (UltraHal & Expansion Pack) - (please don't take offense), check to see if you're using any VR Haptek Plug-ins. If so, uncheck them, restart Hal and check it again.

There have been cases reported by others who had experienced problems with this. Personally, I use the VR Plugins with no problems.

In the Search Box at the upper right, type in "expansion pack " (no quotes) and see what results appear. Hopefully some of these might help you.

VR plug in's where? (and no i did not take offense and yes they are both paid for) If you mean on hal I did not see a spot where they are being used if you mean windows I am not sure where to go because doing a search on expansion packs pulled up a list of files none of which vaguely resembled something I could uncheck.

The Haptek  part of the expansion pack is  not working. It will only display the Microsoft agents. Anyone have a fix for this?

it figures after posting this I found a similar question and it turns out no one knows why the buttons don't work. It would be nice to get a answer for it though or a update removing them if no one is going to use them.

I have hal set up to use speech recognition but the only button that actually works, is the one for selecting the sr engine and user. I would like to be able to use the other buttons but nothing happens when i push them.
