A new idea to be developed..hope you can help me

Hi
this is Ken.
I've got a very intereting idea in my mind now.Hoping to develop and bring it to reallity.
I've found myself interested in creating an new artificial intelligence software( or should I call it AI agent) which can interact with real people using MSN messenger, yahoo messenger,AIM or ICQ.
Imagine a situation like this,a busy user who is too occupied with other stuffs to handle any conversion with his friends using MSN messenger, or any other service above.Of course there will be lots of problems when the user is not available for something urgent or important when the user's friend sending him an online message.Through this AI application or agent,he will handle the conversation with the users' friends the way the user teaches it to be and remind the user later any important news.

Besides we might want to incorporate other benficial functions like getting the local weather,surfing the internet,keeping the user update with latest happening in his area...and the list goes on and on...

I don't have any programming knowledge in this field.I hope someone could enlighten me in this issue and make this idea a reality.

I personally do not use a hla or other ai for a chat bot, but many here do..
one person who has a lot of stuff is knightripper... you could also do a search for his post's

People started putting your ideas into practice a couple of decades ago, Ken, lol. Some of the first bots were autoresponders. Look around and read up on where this branch of computer science has come from, got to, and is headed for next. It's mostly about Alicebots and aiml, but my forum is a good place to start, looking for (aiml) scripts and info about various types of A.I.

I was doing some research on google.  I have found a lot of websites are doing this now.  do a search for aim buddy, and you will come up with a list.  the part that Strikes me is how their servers can even handle the load.  It would be interesting what they are using as the backend.

I'm not a programmer, and don't actually speak technicalese, lol, but I think I've read where Dr. Wallace said Pandorabots uses a Lisp processor for the 50,000+ Alicebots running there.
