Not able to use hal6- Help needed
« on: July 21, 2009, 06:22:18 am »
Please help me to know what is the problem..

I'm getting the following problems when i try to install hal6:

Microsoft Speech Control Panel:
INF Install failure. Reason:  The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request.

Lernout & Hauspie TruVoice Amer. Eng. TTS Engine
INF Install failure. Reason:  The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request.

Then i get a command like from WinZip: Install operation is not complete. If you shutdown now, temporary files may not be cleaned up.
continue with system shutdown?

Then an other window pop's up to End Program of WinZip.

How can i solve thesee problems? and use hal6?

Before we can really help you we need to know what operating system you are using and in some cases the type of computer too. Hal will not run on any Apple machines and as far as I know it will not run on Unix or any of the variations of it.
One problem experienced by many is there anti-virus or firewall software. It is always advisable to turn them all off. They can be turn on after a sucessfull download. Failing that may I suggest that you buy the CD with the software on it and in that way avoid any noise you might be experiencing from downloading.
