Hello Will! We know Elvis isn't your priority, but if you could show us a video. That seems amazing, at least more than a "supposed 3D" bot talking on a screen.  ;)

Time to waste with skits, bots & other useless things? Why not visit

NICE!!  This looks like a really nice/fun project.  I would like to do something like that with my HAL also one day.  I have several WowWee robots and 4... count 'em... 4, Mr. Clock Radios...

I picked them up when I found them on a clearance shelf at Walgreens at 80% off.

Having done an Elvis myself, the road to getting him to be able mouth Text-To-Speech or any wave file (for a physical chat bot, for instance, or to read feeds, or web pages) is pretty straight forward on a PC (TTS-viseme for output and speech recognition for input) with a single jaw servo addition and leaving everything else "stock" (he has pretty cool natural head movement as well as object tracking via a couple if IR sensors on the front of the bot).

Total cost is about $250 (elvis + servo + USB servo control board)

Cheers!
