Ultra Hal 7.0 / BUILDING DROIDS AND HUMAN CYBORGS
« on: May 28, 2006, 05:30:30 pm »
I've been wanting this idea to come up for ages. I did try, but got very little interest though.

I was stuck on what I wanted Hal to look like, did I want out and out robot?. So I built the head I thought I wanted with no bits installed and placed it on my desk for a week and it just wasn't Hal.

Excuse the picture quality.

http://www.yourfilehost.com/media.php?cat=image&file=HalProto_v1.jpg

So scratching head I searched the net and am now almost certain I have found what I want. A refined female android in look I shall name her Hally once complete.

On the internal side of things im debating on what to do. I'm tempted to go the gemmy route (hard to get here in the UK), but I think i'll hang fire and see what one of you clever bods come up with.

I really hope this thread gets some serious interest this time.

I'll post any progress/pictures as and when and hope others will do the same.

Sorry my mistake it was HalAsst.exe. This time though it took me about 10 minutes of talking to Hal for it to popup.
The second image if after I pressed more info, I couldn't get any more info than that sorry.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Mouse and keyboard monitoring?.
« on: November 17, 2005, 11:08:45 am »
Could someone please explain why my firewall (ZoneAlarm) has just popped up with a request from the Hal.exe to monitor my keyboard and mouse movements?. Should I be worried?.

When I declined Hal hung (froze) and I had to end the task in taskmanager, he worked fine when I allowed access.
If it is an operation that is needed, could you explain why and what for.

I have disabled Hal and Hal's net access for now till I find out the reason.
The request only popped up when I tested Hal's ability to search Google, to help someone out in another thread.

It is most likely completely innocent, but in this day and age its better to be safe than sorry.

Mr Med please do not take offence to this thread as I mean none while typing.

Do you use a firewall?...is so which. You might need to configure  it to allow Hal(Zaba) to connect to the net.

Well there seems to be no welcome forum so i'll post here (if you don't mind).

Well hi all..

I am looking forward to the release of Hal6, which in my search has proven to be the most user friendly AI out there. My hat is off to you Mr Medeksza, your creation is quite simply amazing[;)].

I hope to be able to purchase Hal upon release (fingers crossed for interview tomorrow)and do what I have imagined in my mind.
That is to actually create Hal,well sort of, her/his head anyway.

I'm going to sculpt/fabricate the head and incorperate a speaker and mic as well as a few cosmetic lcd's for the speech effect.
Now this is where some help wouldn't go amiss. I want to be able to do this off one single usb lead, any idea if this is possible?.

If it proves to be then all is not lost, as I can still go the line-out route and run from the speaker for the lcd speech effect.
I would really love to incorperate a webcam for a visual system, so that Hal would recognise and great accordingly.
Well thats the plan anyway..lol.

So what are your intentions and hopes for Hal?.

Sorry to ramble on in my first post[:I]

Hope to speak with you all soon.
