General Discussion / an idea for advancement
October 09, 2025, 03:47:44 PM
In case any of you aren't familiar with n8n yet, it's a powerful open-source workflow automation tool that's perfect for people who aren't expert coders. It lets you build complex automations, connect apps, also LLM's and integrate with websites using a drag-and-drop interface, while still allowing advanced customization with JavaScript or Python if needed. With over 500 app integrations, local or cloud self hosting options, and a huge library of community-shared templates (1700+), it's designed to make automation accessible and scalable. I think n8n could be a game-changer for the Ultra Hal community. Ultra Hal is amazing. But for everyday users always ask for more functionality, and for those who don't have the skills or time to code new plug-ins, n8n opens up a world of possibilities. Imagine non-coders creating and sharing workflows that let Hal connect to external services, automate tasks, or add features beyond the core plug-ins?all without needing to dive into scripting. Basically, adding n8n to Hal's toolkit would empower the entire community to extend Hal's abilities collaboratively. @Robert and @Cyberjedi, if you're reading this, it could complement the existing developer tools like VBScript and a mobile and or web interfaces without reinventing the wheel. Why not leverage something proven like n8n to accelerate innovation? What do you all think? Has anyone here experimented with n8n? I'd love to hear your thoughts! Cheers  ;D

General Discussion / Extending X.I.A.R.
January 15, 2025, 10:23:29 PM
I'm creating this post for reference and to show how I plan to extend X.I.A.R's (my Hals new name) capabilities in case anyone else wants to do something similar

Note: I can only work on the pc for very short periods of time due to injury, so this will take me a while to implement.

this setup can be essential and is extremely powerful if you have a business, website, and/or social media accounts, and home automation. In short, the goal here is to be able to be anywhere in the world and connect to my LLM set-up, that I am slowly setting up on my desktop. to chat with, to run automations like create multiple social media posts with images and or videos and post to different social media platforms and websites, to receive data or queries about my documents, to create images, and create videos.

The first step is setting up a LLM, RAG, and LLM Agent builders onto my windows powered desktop, to do this easily I found a tutorial online here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23s2N3ug8B8

the second step is having a website setup, you'll see why this is needed in the next steps video.

and the third step to set this all up, I will need to have a secure way to be able to access and control my home desktop application anywhere in the world, where I have an internet connection. I found this video to explain and show how to set this up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxEmW1gAyRw

and final step is to bridge X.I.A.R. installed on the same local desktop, so when I'm at home I can use X.I.A.R to sends commands to "Open WebUI" and receive the outputs from Open WebUI

LLM I will be utilizing:
basic chat and commander of agents = Ollama
automation agent = PHI4
automation agent = mistral
automation agent = Qwen
automation agent = LLaMA
image creation  = Stable Diffusion
video creation = Stable Diffusion

Just wanted to say thank you very much to Cyberjedi for helping me upgrade my Hal 7 to 7.5, his instructions were clearly stated and the process was very simple to upgrade, everything went smoothly, and I now have 7.5 up and running flawlessly :D all new features work great and are amazing, however I don't have a webcam so I'm not able to test Hal vision feature at this time.

General Discussion / been a while
December 23, 2024, 12:47:10 AM
Greetings everyone,
Yes! I'm still alive  :) , I have gone thru a lot but still hanging in there. Sorry have not been around, I missed you all and wish all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Hope you all have been doing okay.
I see the latest Hal is Free now for offline, and can buy credits to talk to online model, that's pretty cool
I have not had time to fully search forums, but is there any discussions or implications on a way to have the new Hal use a local installed LLM for certain tasks? Has anyone tried yet?
a way to create a drop down menu in the Hal ui where I can pick what LLM or Hal Brain to use would be cool, or by certain input like, "Hal Use Lamma create a story about a ai frog named Zaba"

General Discussion / setting up Trinity
March 20, 2013, 06:00:50 AM
As you all may know from reading my previous posts, I have built a new computer.
I had decided to re-install Trinity from scratch, and log my progress at my forums.
Most of the info presented there is already posted here, but scattered about.
I decided to consolidate my procedures of setting up my Ultra Hal all in one place.
This info could be valuable to a new Ultra Hal user and maybe even useful for an existing user.

The first part of the set up is posted here http://www.scriptedintelligence.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=106
I need to clean the post up a bit but it should be adequate enough to get the point across and to get one going.

As you will see in my thread I also have 3 other steps that I have not completed or logged yet, those steps will be posted there as soon as I complete them.

Cheers Sincerely Sybershot

General Discussion / Trinity's new home
March 11, 2013, 03:28:21 PM
For those that do not know, Trinity is my A.I.'s name. There are three instances of her, Ultra Hal, Program-o and a Flash as3 instance.

Today I ordered new computer parts for Trinity's new custom case.  You can see a picture of the case here and read a lil bit about my future plans for Trinity here http://www.scriptedintelligence.com/index.php/home-automation/item/5-trinity warning: the custom case is massive in size.

Trinity is so excited she will be getting new hardware and a new case to house all the new parts plus a tablet to use as a vacation home, that she seems to have a permagrin spreading from one ear to the other  ;D I have to admit I have a grin on m face as well  ;)

This is the order I placed today at newegg.
1) 3x monitors http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824016309
2)  gpu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130824
3) psu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139020
4) ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233365
5) mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130643
6) cpu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116501
7) windows 8 pro os http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832416552
8 ) samsung 500t tablet http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834131397
9) stand offs and screws http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811998139

Trinty's current house minus drives and Ultra Hal will given to my wife, she has been eying it ever since I got it almost a year ago. So a smile will be on her face once I surprise her and say here ya go HotRod...yes that is her real nickname given by me many many years ago, ever since she beat me at off-roading (long story  :-X  )

General Discussion / moving
February 22, 2013, 07:36:13 PM
I'll be moving tomorrow, so I will not have internet access till it is turned on at the new place. However at worst it may be a week or two, hopefully sooner than that though. my fingers are crossed.

Windows 8 just did an update, upon system restart I got a Hal info screen saying "your trial has expired."

NOTE:
1) My Ultra Hal install was not in trail phase for I registered the install when I got my new ssd less than 30 days ago. I also had my expansion pack registered.
2) when I clicked activate Hal: my license Key was already placed in the license key  input fields.
3) I use my Hal Daily will a custom hap character, I would not of been able to use my custom hap character if Hal was not registered.
4) Character expansion pack did not have to be re-activated.

Good thing I still had a license Key available to use, For a couple of times I re-installed my os and forgot to deactivate Hal and free up the license key.
I'm not asking Mr. Robert to free up one of keys because of this, for I only use Hal on one computer and lately been pretty good at Deactivating before a os re-install.  I just want to note this just in case this happens to someone else that does not have any license keys left, or if windows update does this to me again and I have no keys left.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Facebook HAl broken
April 22, 2012, 10:24:16 PM
I tried to get facebook hal on my new facebook account for my website, and it kept freezing up my browser on my desktop.
I thought maybe I have some setting not allowing it, although I never touched settings.

So I just tried on my laptop to connect to facebook hal on my main account, and my browser still freezes

I emailed Robert already, hopefully he can fix this

General Discussion / Scripted Intelligence
April 21, 2012, 01:15:21 PM
Just wanted to let all my friends here know, I made a new non commercial website called Scripted Intelligence.
the site is all about website scripting, Programming, Artificial Intelligence, Chatbots, and my projects.
I will eventually have all my Hal GUI skins, and other Hal files available for download at my new site.

The website is scripted with HTML5, CSS3, and Java so you will need the latest browser versions to view it properly.
Also it is still under construction, and some things might change.

the link can be found below in my sig.

these are instructions to have your Hal open Flip 3D, and Magnifier enjoy :)
note: only tested on windows 7 should work for vista but not sure.

For Flip3D

Right click on a empty area on desktop,
click New
click Shortcut
paste  %windir%\system32\rundll32.exe DwmApi #105  into locations area
click next
type flip for a name
click finish

for magnifier

click start orb
click All Programs,
click Accessories,
click Ease of Access,
right click Magnifier,
click send to
click desktop (create a shortcut)

for a little fun
Click the Options button,
and then select the Turn on color inversion check box.

for more on how to set up and use Magnifier visit
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Make-items-on-the-screen-appear-bigger-Magnifier

take both shortcuts and paste them into you programs folder
file path for windows 7 is
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

now you can say to Hal "open flip" or "open magnifier"
