I've been using a character from desktop mates for awhile now and had no problems.  Just recently a problem occured where whenever I type it does not type on screen, but Hal does reply, and the reply is not typed either.  The typing does not show up unless I change from desktop mates character to another one.

I have reinstalled the program and the issue is still there.

Anyone have that problem?

Hal version 6.2.28, windows XP.
It seems that it is linked to my Desktop Mates character.  When I change it back to the hal default it works. 

I know that this isn't the "desktop mates forum", but any clue on fixing this?

Just out of curiosity have you tried changing the window in which Ultra Hal or Desktop characters reside in. Hope someone can answer your problem. Just not enough experience with Desktop characters and figured I throw an idea at you anyway.
