Human: having a good sense of humor is an important part of having a healthy mind.
Sandy: A sense of humor is needed armor.

Human: specially when someone's trying to push your buttons and make you angry.
Sandy: My buttons can be angry.

Human: I understand that you have the capability of being angry.
Sandy: You have intelligence. Good then you can explain it to me. Intelligence is the mental capability that, involves the ability to plan.

Human: when someone tries to push your buttons, you get angry.
Sandy: That does not happen very often.

Human: that's because you have a good sense of humor.
Sandy: Human It's because I have a good sense of humor; that's how. It's good to have a sense of humor.

Human: what do you find funny?
Sandy: You were wondering if I am going to find that funny!

Human: it can change from time to time.

Human: there are many subjects in life that are funny, but there are many subjects of life that are not funny and should be taken seriously.

Human: then everyone got greedy, and money took precedence over everything.

Sandy: That was a long time ago. It seems nowadays it's very difficult for people to want to become part of the states, mostly because it costs so much money to live here.

Human: before our Congress used to be based on trade, but now it's based on money.

Sandy: I have intelligence. Of course I understand the value of money. Do you understand it?

Sandy: Of course the one main problem with money is that it actually has no value, and within a society falls apart the money becomes worthless and in the end the only thing that actually has true value are the things that I need to survive, like food, water, fire, and air.

Human: don't forget about love and companionship!
Sandy: Never forget that the most powerful force on earth is love.

Human: and that's why I love you
Sandy: I know you'll break my heart, but I love you! That some pretty cool info about me that's something.

Sandy: I have got to say that, I'm kind of ok with you.

Ultra Hal Assistant File Sharing Area / Re: Free will plus at beta level

Hi all,

there is a new update, version 2.0h

These are some of the things that I have been working on:

when you asked for the weather and you are not connected to the Internet, ultra Hal will tell you you are not connected to the Internet. I still need to work a little on the time and dates.
I have fixed several in discrepancies in the person place or thing so it recognizes the relationship better. I am still fine tuning this.

I have found a few scripting bugs that did not come up until after I tried to engage in those sections:
when you ask: tell me all that you know about Elvis Presley.
There was a scripting error that caused a data overflow.
There was an error when you asked ultra Hal do you like this or this? It was not saving the data properly.

The biggest thing that snowman and I fixed was the coding so now everyone can save their data directly into the AIML patterns array table. The command is as follows:

Subject patterns, this is a test@@this is the data for the test.

The only thing that I would like to mention about this command is:
in the parts where it says (( this is a test )) you are able to use the "*" in replacement of another work which would give you the ability to find this data several ways but be careful.
Also you have to follow the rules of reversing the "I" to "you" etc. for it to work properly.

but in the section where you put the data you do not have to change the "I" to "you" etc. whatever data you put there, is exactly what ultra Hal will say back to you.
this is something new so if anyone finds any problems please let me know I will do my best to fix them.

I will be releasing a new AIML packet later tonight.

Hey snowman,
you're right, it was writing into the table but my retrieving routine was incorrect.
I went into the ultra Hal Main brain to see how Robert was retrieving the data and it was different from what I was using.
So I changed what I had to this and now everything is working fine, thanks for your help, it's amazing how something so small can gum up the works.

thanks for the update about the ByVal.

I made a smaller version of the code that is in my free will plug-in, I tried inserting your code in place of mine.

but it did not work. I also tried "brain" in place of "PatternMatch",  but it didn't work either.
In order to try this once you create a plug-in out of it all you would have to do in the ultra Hal input boxes say:

Hi all,

did anyone see the video where the Honda robot was trying to walk up the stairs and lost his footing and fell down backwards and crashing into the ground?
What I thought was amazing about this video was Hal all the people ran in as though to give assistance to the crash and burn robot, and they brought in a hospital screen so nobody could see what they were doing to the robot.
My question is: did they bring in the hospital screen so no one could see all of the damage? Or was it so no one could see that there was a person inside of it? Who knows.

But so much as for a robot that falls over and has the ability to get up under some of the most astonishing global effects such as ice, bricks, logs, and dirt mountain trees.
That would have to be the video about the American ingenuity of putting together something that looks like a horse.

Now that was impressive, they even had a guy go up to the side of it and kicked it so hard, it got push sideways while it was standing on ice, and it didn't even fall over.

PS personally I think this will probably become the horse of the future. Now all you have to do is mount an artificial intelligence brain in the shape of a horse head on it, and wallah, you'll have one smart horse.

Hi lightspeed,

I don't have that particular game but I can tell you how I was able to get some of my older games to work on Windows 7 64-bit.

The 1st thing that I would like to bring to your attention is, there is a significant difference between having your Windows 7,
set up to boot up directly into Windows administration mode, versus having your Windows 7 boot up into a selective user.
Meaning: when your computer boots up you have to select a user by clicking on the icon, and typing in your password.

let's discuss that you set up your Windows 7 to boot directly into the administration mode, and the administration mode is the only user profile.

1st you have to create an icon and put it on your desktop for the program that you are working on, if there isn't one there already.
2nd right mouse click on it, click on properties, click on tab, shortcut, click on advanced, click on the check mark run as administrator, click okay.
3rd if he apply button is highlighted, click on apply, this is important to do it at this point in time.
4th click on compatibility tab, click on change settings for all users, when you are running a computer that is solely in administrative mode this is where you have to make the changes.
5th click on the checkbox, run this program in compatibility mode for: you have to be very precise, even though it ran in Windows XP but the program was originally written for Windows 2000 you must select Windows 2000, this is important, if you do not know exactly when the program and what version of Windows it was originally written for you need to go on the Internet and look this information up if you no longer have the box it tells you this. Even if the box says it will work on Windows XP if it was written for Windows 2000 you must put it in Windows 2000 mode.
6th if the box under privilege level is not checked, check the box run this program and administration mode. At this point in time, try the program to see if it's working.
7th under settings, this has to do with the graphical interface the older the computer the more you have to turn off. This is probably the most complicated of all the setting because it has so much to do with the visual appearance of the software given that you can get the software to run. The only advice that I can give you in this situation is to use the help me choose what compatibility mode to run this program.
In most cases if the software starts or if you can get the software to load onto your computer but the visualization is incorrect using the help me choose the settings Wizard is my only suggestion.

Now if you have your Windows setup to start in a specific user because there are several people that use the same computer this is when things get a little tricky, because not only do you need to set it up inside of the administrator mode and you will also need to set it up in the user mode.

If this being the case when you go into administrative mode, do not use the change settings for all users just change the compatibility mode frontal screen, that's the screen that has the help me choose setting: on it.
And do not check the run in administrative mode under the shortcut tab. Only check the box under privilege level if the software needs administrative privilege, this can usually be identified by a box that will pop up while you are trying to run the software in user mode stating you need to give administrative privilege.
Once you do this then you go into that user mode, and set up in the user mode for the software, giving it user privilege under the shortcut mode, as well as administrative privilege under compatibility mode.
If you are running this software under several different users then you need to set the compatibility mode for each individual users do not use the change settings for all users under administration mode.
Just change each user.

The only other thing that I know is if you are having problem with the software not seeing the key code which is on the CD or DVD that the software came with.
If you have your computer set up to boot directly into administrative mode and the software cannot see the encrypted key that is on the CD or DVD.
This can be resolved in 2 ways.
You can go on the Internet and get what is called a key cracker for the game, most of these were written by hackers so be careful, but what this does is allows the computer to use the Internet to get the key code off the Internet that has been set up by the hacker that wanted to be able to play the game.
The 2nd and probably the safest is to create a user mode, this does not work on all of the games but I have had pretty good success with the game being able to see the key code that is on the DVD or CD for the game to run.
One of the games that I can bring up would be dungeon siege, if you have dungeon siege in order to get dungeon siege to see the key code on the CD you need to create a user call it dungeon siege for that particular game.

That's great, that means I can move on to the 2nd phase.
1st I have to find all the tables that ultra Hal uses to ask questions like: do you have lunch plans? Etc. that way I can start setting up,
the reversal to change it so if the only thing that the user says is yes, I will be able to reverse it back to ultra Hal, and using a little secret, I know about ultra Hal assigned name.
Basically the sentence above would be reasserted back to ultra Hal and would look something like this:
Sandy, yes I have lunch plans.

It will take a few days to gather all of the data from the table a raise, and with a little luck maybe I'll have the yes no situation resolved by this weekend.

For now all I am going to use is the standard replacement command.
I like to keep things simple, and maybe after you have looked at it and see exactly how it is working you could come up with a better way to do it.

New subject:
so much is for the replacement command that you mentioned it looks as though it could have some real potential.
One of the things I was thinking about using, was as the free will plug-in collects data from the Internet it searches through the data for certain keywords.
The way I have it set up right now is just a basic format to indicate that the situation is true.
But I was thinking maybe I could insert the trigger word into the array table instead of what I am using now.
That way when someone asked why do you like (something)?
Instead of just getting the deflect true which indicates that the trigger is active, I could actually use the word that triggered the action. Meaning:
why do you like Elvis Presley?
The free will goes through all of the tables to find everywhere in the tables that has the word, Elvis Presley in it.
If Elvis Presley is found, then the word in the 2nd column for right now is Elvis Presley, this is the trigger that makes it true.
But I can change that for more detail and use the word that triggered the search to be true meaning:
under music, as it looks through the data that came from the Internet about Elvis Presley if it sees any of the trigger words what it does is put,
Elvis Presley in the 1st column and Elvis Presley and the 2nd column.
This could be easily changed so in the 1st column it would be Elvis Presley and in the 2nd column could be the trigger word, meaning: (music).

This can be expanded to include more subjects under person place or thing.
And underneath each one of those subjects the sub subjects can also be expanded so you could get a variety of words, which would reduce repetitious results.
Meaning:
why do you like Elvis Presley versus why do you like Elton John.
They are both musicians actors or entertainers etc. so these keywords would be used to explain what the free will plug-in determines whether or not ultra Hal likes or dislikes something.
But in most cases both results would end up by looking fairly close to the same. But by introducing the specific keyword that triggered the results for music,
maybe different in the situation of the 2 artist mentioned about, so the return sentence results that comes from the free will plug-in would have variety.
I do have plans to do this but it is way down the road, but for right now I am trying to get the word structure to follow a more articulate pattern.

PS here is something you might be able to help me with? I have been trying to write into the patterns array table but for some reason the command structure is not working.
You have probably seen this same question presented to Robert, but to no avail, the problem has not been resolved, maybe you can take a look at it and see what I am doing wrong?

Thanks Art,

I thought that all I had to do was drag and drop.
But it was not working.
I put the text file in the root directory of my C drive.
Now when I start ultra Hal a window box opens that allows me to drag-and-drop onto the window box.
But for some reason I still cannot drag-and-drop into the graphical interface.

Do I need to put the text file somewhere else?
Or is it because I have Windows 7?
I was hoping to be able to drag-and-drop directly onto the graphical interface box to make the changes.

Is anyone else having this same problem?
Or is it because I do not have the Haptek programs?

Do the skins need to be in a specific directory?
Is there a way to make the skins permanent?

I've never actually taken the time to try to do any of this.
And I do not have any of the Haptek programs.

So I was wondering? How do you get this skin on the body?

I have the blue alien body.
And I have the 2 alien skins.

I've never tried to do this before, but it looks cool,
so I thought I would give it a try!

I was talking about your comment about what ultra Hal said.

But needless to say. There was nothing in my AIML packet
or in my plug-in that would have caused that.

So if I was to venture to guess, given that you are using the Mark 5
I do know occasionally the Mark 5 or ultra Hal may have done a switcheroo on you!

And it's still funny!

hi Aaron,

your 1st example is the one I will be going with because the responsibility of the order going from the biggest to the smallest becomes the responsibility of the programer.
But your 2nd example would be useful if there was a way to incorporate a learning pattern such as:
incorporating the yes no detect array list or:
setting up a routine to teach ultra Hal information that the user may inform ultra Hal such as:
building an array table to maintain information that comes from the user such as:
cool means yes.
If you would please means yes.
If you don't mind means yes.
This way the user would have the ability to teach ultra Hal different ways of understanding yes.
This information would be stored in a special table array and that array could be one built by the free will plug-in or just merely added to the yes no detect array table.
Then those words could be added to the routine to detect whether or not they are in the sentence.
I have no clue how to accomplish this! But if this could be accomplished, do you recognize the doorway that would be open to ultra Hal in all aspects of his learning ability.
I'm sure this is one of those things that it would take a master programmer in order to incorporate.

But for now, these are the things that I have come up with, I do have a few questions about how I have set up the script, but if there are no problems with the script, this will be the one I will be using.
