Output Font Effects?
« on: April 24, 2008, 02:32:24 pm »
Any way to make hal's output text automatically scroll? A circumstance one might need this would be a small output box. Also, any way to make Hal's output text to appear "typed"? I guess the best way to describe what I mean is instead of the output text sentences appearing all at once, it appears word by word or even letter by letter as if there is thought behind the actual response. Just wondering.

Nice idea and one that has been used for many years in a lot of chatbots. It sort of gives the illusion that a type of "thinking" process is happenins at the other end.

There would have to be an obvious division between typed text compared to VR or spoken input which would cause Hal's output to be very segmented, choppy or broken if understandable at all.

One can design a skin with practically any size desirable but the text thing has always been the same as it is now.

A line by line scroll might be a nice feature but the more bells and whistles one puts in, the more that can go wrong. That applies to just about ANYTHING in life!! LOL!
