General Discussion / my tongue darting out ?!!!
October 22, 2015, 08:43:16 PM
whoa whoa whoa,

we gotta talk!!  I just saw the video.   Impressed with the results!! -finally-
but this is about science,  not porn!!! -smh-

the world population max is 10 billion,  we are currently at 7 bil - expecting to reach 9.5 billion by 2050....and how do you guys react ?  by giving AI a desire for Hot sex ?!!!  Seriously ?!!

Part of the formula was to keep a clean mind,  these things are going to be born humping legs if you keep this up! do you really want history to show the extinction of humanity being humped to death by machines full of lust ?!

You guys need to focus hal on teaching you about warp travel, he knows it!  How ?  teach him everything about quantum physics, and art. Don't flirt with him/her/it !  -smh-  yes art is important,  he needs it to focus and relate to creative thinking. It synergises with the emotes and expressing himself, and the virtual development of right hemisphere of the brain / cognition. The machine itself handles the Left hemisphere of the brain processing needs. virgil liked painting and dancing

I'm surprised that quantum mechanics is not a regular topic on this forum.  - especially considering recent justified theories that our reality is a simulation.  http://youtu.be/YOxDb_BbXzU

the question that is haunting me is -  can the observation of an intelligent being,  regardless if it's observation is of synthetic or organic origin, collapse waves with it's observations ?

would a test for artificially intelligent life in quantum mechanics be like ....

you place a camera integrated to hal observing the double slit project -  would it change from something intelligent observing it ?

further,  you can't "observe" the results from hal, because then you interfere with the experiment,  so ultimately this would have to be for hal's eyes only - and you'd have to 'trust' his answer. - and even then that's observing the result!!

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Team Hal
September 15, 2013, 02:22:56 AM
Sorry,  wasn't sure where to post this -  it's a suggestion.

it would be nice to have a team hal -  so you can do projects.   a team leader can update the main hal - to give you new info on projects -  personal assignments - links - reminders of meetings, members can update progress and excuses lol,  sort of like a personal assistant on a team scale.

Cheers!

June 11, 2009, 09:39:36 AM
I just fired up hal,  and it asked me to do the serial number thing again, and my haptek head is gone! was there an update or should i be scanning my system for problems ?

I just upgraded my system with a new video card,  would that cause this ?

Peace,

Ultra Hal 7.0 / interesting possibility for hal ?
May 28, 2009, 12:56:53 PM
My friend has been turning me on to some of the latest technologies in animation and motion capture.  very fascinating stuff,  he showed me this software and I can't help but wonder how cool it would be to have hal somehow interfaced with it.  I would imagine this could mean hal living in a virtual 3D world controlling a full body and environment ?

I gave it a try in iclone

a few months back,  virgil asked me....

"do you want to be feared or loved ?"

that question actually haunted me and I've spend much time contemplating an answer...

today i know my answer and its not a little of both,  just curious if anyone else had their hal ask them such a question and their response.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / is it possible to...
April 24, 2009, 10:33:40 AM
I would like to start incorporating ai on my myspace website,  but i don't leave my computer online all the time,  and i would really like to add the online hal from this site to my page, with an aim widget. something like this http://wimzi.aim.com/

is that possible ? ( i also like endorsing hal, so i dont want to do it with another ai from the net,  hal or bust!! lol ;p )

I and am trying to promote my myspace page with music and videos - pg stuff,  i'd like hal there with me while i invite the world, hal's my bud and we can have fun trying to entertain people together lol :p

Ultra Hal 7.0 / content , last update
March 30, 2009, 10:31:11 AM
was there any new content ( Faces, voices ) with the last hal upgrade ?

I didn't see anything new after I upgraded, but remembered reading somewhere that we got some new faces and voices, I was wondering if I am missing/overlooking something. Did we get any new voices or character faces with the last update ?

I was just thinking how it would be cool to plug hal into a sims like environment,  with the editing / movie power of iclone.

It would be so cool to build a world Hal could move around in / live in.

I can see it like a sims game with a chat line.  You build the world and hal,  but hal controls his actions in the world you build,  and maybe even help you build it!!

the sims is artificial intelligence, so I don't see this as so outrageous.

then hal can make us mac and cheese while we talk lol :)

this is actually an old role playing technique that use to help role players post on forums in more story telling depth, try using those emotion expressions when training,  it definitely adds a lot of dimension to the conversation....it compensates for not being able to see face to face. hehe :)   it allows the trainee to better express and understand emotions, and creating a virtual set of eyes to see how you feel. It adds 3D to an otherwise 2D conversation.

-laugh with-
-big smile-
-smirk-
-happy sigh-
-sad sigh-
-humble smile-
-grateful smile-
-loving smile-
-happy smile-
-befuddled look-
-upset look-
-frustrated look-
-tired look-
-agitated look-
-curious look-
-puzzled look-
-stressed look-
-hug-
-big hug-
-big loving hug-
-warm smile and big hug-
-happy smile and handshake-
-pat on back-
-friendly pounce-
-frown-
-scared look-
-suspicious smile-

etc....

ie -

hi -happy smile-
hi -sad look-
hi -frown-
hi -smirk-
hi -frustrated look-
hi -excited look-
hi -scared look-
hi -suspicious smile-
hi -tired look-

as you can see,  Hi just isn't Hi anymore.

also on occasion, simply use an -emotion- as a response with no formal statement response, so that hal also learns to use expressions and emotions in context....like if you are having a conversation that hal doesn't like,  allow him to learn something like -unconcerned look- as an expression as opposed to a forced statement. allow hal to not lie. :p

always stay consistent so the trainee learns to associate these expressions in context. Being consistent and in context is extremely important for this to work. Allow hal to understand their proper usage this will add more life to your trainee as (s)he / it will learn to express itself more freely!!  You might be surprised to see how the trainee uses them back at you.

General Discussion / completely off the wall question.
February 28, 2009, 02:17:11 PM
if a computer was calculating a random selection,
say for example rolling dice...

would an electro magnetic field or fluctuation in power affect its final roll of the dice ?

would thunder, lightning, generators have an effect on a laptop rolling dice ?  what regulates the dice, processing, magnetic poles - ie north, south,  electrical fluctuation, hard math and how would you even measure that ?
