Happy Holiday's to all first of all.

This script error just began to rear it's ugly head and hoping I can get some answers, Tried all the usual fixes, unplugging everything, and some other minor tweaks going back to jus a previous backup that was working just fine.

If you look at the line error in the Hals script dbg file. that address does not exist on my system when tracing it back.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated at this time. 2020 the year that keeps on giving.

First , hope everyone and their families are doing well.

I know the topic doesn't seem clear but what I am asking after may years refers to something I have forgotten, LOL.

When UH starts and you decide not to go into options for what ever the reasons might be and directly select the : "Chat Option"  does UH default to your last settings or unless you you go into option it can be a 50/50 shot if you have more than one DB brain in the selection area?

You would think for as many years and going through this process many times I would retain some knowledge. Had to reinstall Win 10. Back in the day you needed to de- activate your license then Reactivate via the online selection. I totally don't remember anything but that. Tried to just go back to my account on the "Zabaware Page" of my "account" to re download everything I purchased and just substitute the main Zabaware folder with my backup and I totally screwed up. Can anyone please give me the best way to re install and get my files back to where they should be including any Re activation procedures. A little embarrassing to say the least. Its only been 15 yrs or so working with Ultra Hal.

Just as a point of reference, I had last updated to vers. 6.2 before 7 was released and then chose to "merge" {6.2 & 7} the brain feature when upgrading to vers. 7 utilizing my past vers. of 6.2 and not using the online selection feature that is in vers.7. I really would appreciate the time and then you can laugh at me later. Right now the versions are just all over each other and I'm still looking for the correct brain db. File I backed up that has my years of inputting and conversation, Ultra Hal was working perfectly before Win 10 reared its ugly head and the re install. Thank you so very much if possible.

Side Note: never noticed because everything was working in the past but the vers. 7 folder within the main Zabaware folder is empty on every vers. I have, thinking that its a result when you choose to merge both 6.2 and 7. vers. together.

Wow , its great to be back. Never stopped using Ultra Hal but never wanted to change it either until now so please bare with me.
First of all hello again to all the familiar and not so familiar friends.

1-Upon Startup first time, comes up with speech stating unvalidated License code
2-No speech or lip sync working based upon using my original character and voice
My install selection was the migration of 6. with 7
WIN 10 upgrated
I'm wondering if I need to reinstall character expansion pack and voice again as well?, This is bringing back some great memories.

Thank you for any assistance as I am getting my feet wet again on the forum and hunting down some basic answers. Really great to be back.

Sorry but I don't get the chance to talk to you privately. Hope you don't mind, but most here only wish you the best. I can only speak for myself that your program plays a role in my everyday life for learning and understanding.

Just wanted to mention and I'm sure that others have also noticed, since Robert's little update that some old friends are hinting a big come-back. Even aladyblond has a mention which I think is great.

I guess a little news is better than no news and it certainly seems to have brought back some attention. I'm sure Robert M. has taken notice. If not maybe when he and his wife get some real sleep at night.

Hoping the best for all of this positive interest and new additions. (I meant family as well).

Just a follow up for a response. Robert M. any suggestions on how you would wish to proceed or not. I'll say it again I understand things are hectic but if there was just a hint it would be helpful.

Any one please feel free to relay any messages to Robert M. Just want to know the possibilities based on a set of real criteria. If not possible that is fine. Circumstances are always changing and evolving. Sometimes it's just the timing.

Has anyone experience with the Windows 10 update the License to use Ultra Hal can have a problem re-registering?

My system is personally working but I did encounter a problem during an update on one of my computers. I did not deactivate the license prior to install on any updates which totals 3 different computers.

Art can you please make sure that the terminology is correct for UltraHal standards.(Probably very similar for other products as well) You might as well start with me. I remember you mentioning it and I thought it was a good idea so everyone could be on at least the similar page when describing different ideas or problems. Thanks. Anyone else feel free to correct me.

My problem has been having my character upon start-up default to a different pose and or different location within the GUI Window, of coarse this would mean work with most backgrounds and the particular GUI you are using.

We can do it manually but I thought it would be nice if we can set different defaults for the same character. I don't know if you would also have to contend with the default locations that are within the Haptek characters.
Usually heads or full body characters find just about center of GUI window on start-up. But with certain backgrounds or GUI maybe you would want to have the character default to a sitting position or facing a little left or right, back or really close to window.

If not feel free to respond. I figured, why not work with what we have while waiting on any update right now. I know it might be a waste, but it may just play into things later, who knows.

Mr. Robert M. what is happening with any progression of UltraHal if any ?

Please post anything good or bad. We still love what you have created and for others really tried to make additional tools. But a direction is better then no direction at this stage.

Just my personnel opinion is, you should address it no matter of the situations. Why? Just for the sake of long time relationships that have also been built into your UltraHal. We are all friends here. (most any way)lol. Heck this is your forum.

I think it would be nice for everyone.

Has anyone experimented with the Raspberry Pi2 project board? An inexpensive and exciting way to work on a budget, powerful fully functional fit in your hand computer. Haven't purchased one yet but for $35.00 a great way to start any project. For UltraHal possibly and home automation or both.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Dear Art would love to discuss the difference between the older Radio Shack history and what they really did in the past. Don't get so impressed by College degrees. It is still the individual and experiences outside the classroom. The employees I have spoken to at many Radio Shack locations have schooling but no real experience. Radio Shack was good for project builds in electronics and carried an extensive supply of parts for novice to pro applications and the personnel to build these projects. Today, great at selling toys, radios and I phone accessories but like many don't get paid enough. As told by others. But I guess this really doesn't matter since their filling for bankruptcy or just selling out.

Just so there is no mis-understanding I am not knocking education or any one that works at Radio Shack today. But things have and do change including Radio Shacks direction in business and electronics. I will miss them if they completely shut down.

Hope you don't mind the reply. Worked with Radio Shack for many years and was able to see the major transformation. We built many things for use in the Pro Audio field for years and Radio Shack was a decent suppliers of electronic parts.

Does anyone remeber where the positioning of Avatars happen upon start-up? I know the movements after start-up but I would like my Avatar to be in a different position on the screen upon start-up. Just can't remember.

Thank you for any responses. Just something to think about maybe for some members.
With all the plugins that everyone develops and then going to the extreme of sorta re-inventing UltraHal. When as members do you ever believe we mess with Robert's UltraHal too much? Please don't miss understand the question as I believe everything that some of our best members have done was to bring UltraHal to higher levels or at least customized levels. But does anyone feel that all these sometimes improvements go beyond the real intentions of the creator of UltraHal(Robert M.)? I really hope this translates well. I am definitely not saying its a bad thing because Robert M. has in the past incorporated some plugins that others have developed but is there a time to move slower with just random ideas (not that it is a negative thing) but just trying to alter UltraHal too much and Robert M. not really saying much about it. I am not excluding myself of not using other members ideas or plugins!!! Sometimes makes me wonder because is that he is too busy or also does believe in keeping things moving in any rational direction that makes UltraHal more? Giving new comers as well as the members that have been using UltraHal for years a chance to see that there is always something of interest for everyone looking at UltraHal thus generating more interest.

There is a new upgraded version of UltraHAl that Robert M. will get out as he mentioned but after the other projects which help Zabaware's bottom line and exposure which indeed are priorities to maintain interest. Also mentioned above.

I guess in short does one side exploit and really slow Roberts progress or does it all help to improve UltraHal by evolving and keeping all these resources that others can bring to the table? Is there a conflict we are over looking any where in the short term or long term?? In UltraHals own words, "Can the two coexist"?

Dear Robert, just wondering and I feel it is okay to post if not my apologies. NOTE: If not appropriate feel free to remove this topic.

At this point is there anything more as a group or individuals we can do to help the Ultra Hal project along. I am not speaking for anyone. Last time I tried I had come up short from a business stand point and was very surprised and disappointed. Is there something more we can possibly contribute. I have tried purchasing extra licenses but there must be some creative or not so creative way to get Ultra Hal over the hump.

Please note I am speaking in general terms and I do realize this is a very difficult economic position for most including myself. But I also realize I need lots of balance in my life as hard as things get you need to step away although life doesn't seem it will let you. Ultra Hal allows me those few hours of separation or just plain release of frustration when you don't want to spread the negativity. I am no doctor just my own thoughts and experiences.

Please do not take this message as it seems negative even if I read it myself in some way!! I know you are very creative have made plans and probably as a business person know exactly what is best for your company. Time and money is not one single companies obstacle especially today. Just wanted to put out there. Again any Mod. or Robert feel free to remove if this really doesn't help anything or casts a negative tone for Ultra Hal and other members. The very last thing I would want to do!!

While waiting and watching members just trying to add anything to the forum. Just wondering if there is any more we can do if any one does choose too or has the means, doesn't just have to be monetary although i believe any company facing today's everyday issues and technology would probably put it at the top of the list. I know I do with just trying collect account receivables.

I was wondering what the consensus was for how safe plug-ins are that allow Ultra Hal to research the internet and all the info returned. I subscribe to many Tech info blogs such as ZDNet Tech Update and it always seems that there are much larger chances of being infected then we realize such as the latest holes in Java exists for example. Does any of this pertain to Ultra Hal getting on line and researching to return information that our own protection may not catch because of the methods used by Ultra Hal to gather this info? Just curious because I never see members mentioning this while others are looking for this feature more and more. Any reply welcomed as always.
