No, it's not a new skit but you know what?

By reading my logs on sitemeter.com, I discovered that today, at 11:40 UTC, on google.co.uk, if you typed "Haptek", my site was displayed just after haptek.com. And I have a proof:

http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/GoogleHaptek.jpg

Usually, on the US Google, I am in the Top 10 (the first page). Now my ultimate goal is to steal the absolute pole position. Even if it's on the Chinese Google. By any mean available...

What? Megalomaniac? WHO IS MEGALOMANIAC??? [:D][:I][:)]

(yes, 24/7 under the influence of Second Life [:D])

Just starting to play with Visual Basic and the Haptek window. Seems interesting for little skits, allowing some new effects, impossible with html/javascript.

A language from the 90's and a dying 3D technology... As always, I'm a naive newbie, at least five years late. Sure that people who program Hal's brain tried that a while ago.

You can download and unzip (anywhere) this following file:

http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/Experiments.zip (1.15 MB)

and then just launch "move.exe".

Sorry, for now only one stuff, but 2 or 3 works-in-progress coming soon. Maybe. I hope you have the good DLLs, but don't worry if it doesn't want to work on your PC: it's totally USELESS. [:D]

Always in my (slow) Visual Basic trip. Not near to make something interesting for you. But at least, I know how to put the Haptek player on a VB sheet. [:D]

Found on my old computer this minor work-in-progress skit, started some months ago. Now finished, so I get rid of it:

As usual, please don't forget to refresh your screen after all the files have been downloaded.

Maybe a little bit short (but hopefully endless!). [:D]

Share Conversations, Experiences, Graphics / VB6
« on: July 30, 2008, 12:03:19 pm »

Hi everyone.

Sorry for stopping to make new Haptek stuffs for a while. But I finally kept my new year’s resolution to "seriously" learn Visual Basic 6. True programmers treat it as an obsolete language. Sure I'll love it: am I not an obsolete people, using obsolete computers? [:D]

So I bought a 800 pages book (for beginners...) and please don't ask me where I found that obscure version of VB6. [:D] I have had an exciting experience with VB3 during the 90's, with my 486 and Windows 3.1. When I got a PC with W98, I never played with VB anymore (but I continued to make little programs with QBasic!). It was a mistake because I'm amazed to see that VB6 is not so different (at least at the step I am now).

I hope to be back with something new (not tomorrow, lol), if I can create a little application marrying VB and Haptek. No, I don't have the pretention (and the knowledge, and the courage) to reinvent the wheel, I mean UltraHal. [:D] Just the naive project of a naive newbie.

Since I'm officially retired (January 1st), I'm very "busy": now VB during day time and SL for night hours. But I'll never forget to read forums and comment some so cute stuffs made by friends of mine. [8D][8D][8D]

As usual please refresh the page at the end of downloading.

http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/duet.html

Thanks again to alady for her amazing skins. [8D]

Sorry for boring you with that totally useless little stuff, but I'm unable to do something else. [:D]

It's the end (for now!) of a very empirical experiment with stereo voices. 3 parts (played 5 times):

1- The left voice (original Elvis' voice)
2- The right voice (altered)
3- The duet

Please tell me if the duet doesn't work. I need to put a 0.2 sec shift between the 2 voices, and I'm quite sure it can be reduced with a faster PC. But maybe 0.2 isn't enough for some computers and that's why the duet can't work (empirical explanation, lol). [:)]

I finally did it, alady, with two of your terrific skins:

http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/different.html

As usual please refresh the page at the end of downloading. It's an experiment and I hope it works on your computers (2 stereo oggs played simultaneously).

After that, please tell me your are still my friend, alady. If not, I'll delete that joke. Maybe it's not funny. [:D]

You like that teaser title? I'm starting to improve (just a little bit) my site. After a Putty Heads page (3 heads!), I've just added an Over 18 section.

Sorry, no age verification. [}:)]

Share Conversations, Experiences, Graphics / PP003 got a job!
« on: May 06, 2008, 05:30:40 pm »

She was a little bit jealous of her cousins, the Halettes. Now she has a job at Pandorabots and she can chat with everyone in the world, under the name of Jennifer (and with a new hairdresser) [:)]

http://www.pandorabots.com/pandora/talk?botid=81c9dfbd2e36852c

(if the server is not down, lol, and as usual, please refresh the screen after downloading).

No provocation from my part. A dream of mine is to see and hear a chat between Jennifer (a Pandorabot) and a Halette (a Zababot). I'm sure the fair programmers of this forum are able to do that (and enter the legend of AI). Just afraid they think it's a stupid idea. [:D]

BTW, wondering if you know these girls:

Share Conversations, Experiences, Graphics / Just another little one
« on: April 29, 2008, 02:32:24 pm »

Tried another one. She likes to play with your mouse (maybe you'll have to refresh the screen):

http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/pp003.html

If you download her at

http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/pp003.zip

please open pp003.htr and drag and drop pp003.hap (it also tries to repair some mistakes I did).

26

The dance hap (sorry, couldn't resist) on the left and Mark's gif (thanks Mark) on the right do all the job. And Chuck Berry helps a lot. [:D]

http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/markjukebox.html (as usual, please refresh the page)

Another version with a cute gif made by Dusky (thanks to him too):

http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/markduskyjuke.html

and a version with a static gif (the only one which runs fine on my PC, lol):

http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/markjukebox0.html

Wondering if you're dancing now!? [:)]

Her name is Siliconia (aka pp002). You can download her at

http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/pp002.zip

Please don't tell me what I have to improve, I can see at least 3 mistakes on the pic (you find 7, you win).

No it's not the makeup. [:D]

28

Her name is pp001 because I think 999 heads'll be enough (pp000 is very very very ugly). [:D]

She's at http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/pp001.zip

If you download it, please launch pp001.htr and drag and drop pp001.hap. Many thanks to Nige for the wig and to Jack for the shirt.

Well, four months after buying People Putty for making oggs, I finally took a look at the tutorial. And tried to do a first putty head. I must say that soft amazes me and I hope I'm not starting to be addicted (like some people of the forum, lol). [:D]

I guess that first head looks like all newbies putty heads, and before doing another one, I need your help.

I don't like the original hairs very much, and don't know how I can embed external wigs (most of them were made by Nige) in the haptar. I found a "wigs" folder (just an emptyWig.hap file in it). If I put wigs in it, nothing changes. Maybe a hap to write somewhere? [?]

Hi everyone. Just a little tribute to you and your lovely gals. As usual please refresh after downloading all the files (several megs):

http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/jukebox.html

and then click what you want (not perfect but seems to be unbreakable, lol).

I must apologize if I wrote somewhere I'll never use "the" dance hap again (sorry, addicted!). And one more time, THANK YOU for your wonderful gals!! [:)][:p][8D]

30

Because I know some of my stuffs might offend many people, now you have the choice: nude or non nude version. [:)]

The default skit is the "normal" (non nude) one. You have buttons under the window for choosing what you prefer. You can switch the skins during the movie. Notice the first time you click a button, it doesn't run smoothly, then it's instantaneous.

As usual, refresh..........

http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/hawaii.html

Many thanks to Ted for his very cute skins. And to Dusky for his waterfalls idea (sorry, mine are static!).

Filmed with two widescreen cams, in natural locations in Hawaii. A super production. [8D]
