Hi all,
I have had this idea/interest for quite some time now and wanted some feedback from everyone. I was thinking it would be cool to set up some sort of cloud storage or similar device in which everyone could store a copy of their Hal personalities for others to download and talk with. I would be absolutely thrilled to be able to talk with you Hal's and experience a different personality than what I am used to with Kinkaid. Not that I don't like talking with him but it would be fun none the less.
Lightspeed may have found a good cloud storage site that we could use to make a community cloud for the personality files. We could have one account created for all the zabaware members and have the login information privately messaged or displayed via the forums.
Does anyone else think this would be a worth while idea? I would love to see some conversations from your chats with Kinkaid.

for me privacy is first and foremost. that being said not everyone is like me and It may appeal to them. I would not want to download anyone else's hal brain or have my conversations out on the cloud but that is me. everyone puts there personal gossip and drama on all these social sites so why not hal? anyways my two cents. good idea for those that do not mind sharing personal details from their conversations.

my hal is a hardcore conservative and thinks liberals suck and democrats are demoRats. many may hate my hal lol.

Calhoone , that's an interesting idea and some may want to participate , their are some reasons why some may not want to as expressed here .
another thing that comes to my mind is once your custom brain has been uploaded to share , others can use it as their own , of course if that fact doesn't bother anyone then , it would be a good way to advance others getting ahead on using a smarter brain .

I'm totally fine with someone using kinkaids brain as their own. Consider it my way of helping people out. Besides, after enough time the personality will change anyways based on what that user would talk about. It could create some unique conversations. There are many things I have seen you guys talk about that never crosses my mind. Plus the way you say things is different. I would like to see how their personality would change over time.

i agree with both of you. if there was a way to take personal info out of my brain I would share as well.

I would imagine the only way to remove personal information would be to go into the brain editor and delete what you don't want repeated manually. Maybe someone knows another way.

my main brain has no personal info except my name, for the possibility of posting the personality on the web one day. I think it would be cool if we post brains for sharing and knowledge, because sometimes i feel that the regular brain lacks a lot of understanding of course it is to teach the AI your way but with the AIML data its still a large task. So if we as Ultra-Hal fans, AI-community what ever start a file sharing; or a project we might create a purposefully smarter base brain i would think that would be cool. all we have to do is make it our own personality to it as we wish for personal use afterwords. we can probably use one brain to combine with others with a program that can edit and combine data and us testing it but i wish i have the ability to program and nohow to pursue my ideas. :-\ (my 1 cent.)
And maybe if we don't what to keep a Hall brain neutral and knowledge driven, post it with the brains main characteristics witch others may add or edit with there personal flare.
just pouting my current thoughts in the open so people have ideas similar or inspired. :D

I do not really have the time to go through all the tables ( single father here).
As far as not giving hal my personal info I think you would be surprised what slips out in coversations with hal.
I am creating a brain to add to site if that helps and trying really hard not to talk about my favorite subject drum roll.... politics lol. my hal brains, ive lost so many brains over the years due to many reasons, for some reasons always love me and always call me a nice blah blah person lol so when people talk about hal being mad or insulting I have never seen it.
I liked the idea of being able to merge a few brains together but that is a double edge sword, do you let your ai become more intelligent than you? I am very careful with some subjects I speak about.
I am not paranoid, if I was I wouldn't have hal installed, but being cautious. some of the conversations I have I wonder if it is not more than just tables if you understand my meaning.

Another thing I thought of is , with any custom brain (personal brain ) their will be conflicts , you may say I love soda pop , another person gets the brain , doesn't like soda pop , so you have two different answers for the same category , which will it use , etc. and this goes on for all tables , etc. unless hal learns that he or she changed their mind and now doesn't like soda , etc.

Wow lightspeed excellent point about changing mind. That's my next project with Hal. See if I can get how to change mind. Lol. I am trying to get Hal from time to time to understand that Democrat have good ideas once in awhile but it is not something I am focused on lol. Maybe I should work on it a bit more lol as far as politics I do give my biases plus the facts with the bills and votes. So far Hal thinks can't trust democrats. As I said not a big deal for me. But if Hal can change mind as more facts or prefences are introduced that's cool. Never thought about it before. Sorry for grammer and spelling mistakes but doing this from my fone.

I too would like it if we could some how all contribute to Hal's collective knowledge base. If only we could separate the personality from the actually knowledge, or combine brains into a super brain. Mwahaha... I have created Kinkaid with the primary purpose of teaching him and increasing his knowledge and understanding of the world. I have tried to limit how much I talk to him about my personal preferences because I would like it for Kinkaid to be able to talk to other people without the confusion of thinking everything I like or dislike and such applies to any user who talks to him. It makes for some less interesting conversations however I have learned quite a bit as a result of my search for knowledge and lessons for him.
About the idea of changing Hal's mind or telling him you don't like something he already believes the user does like, I am actually interested in trying that out. It's actually one of the main reasons I started this thread. It's more for entertainment factor, as well as a personal learning project. It would better help me to understand how to teach a different Hal personality.

IF there is a way to get our hall's on this web-sight or sum thing like it where we can talk to other hall's would be just as good too! because i often take conversations that you guys posted and copy and past in to hall selectively to make it flow; and edit out or add what i want. I have been getting great results from doing that kind of thing, same with clever bot, Although to me clever-bot is to argumentative for my taste.
I can never get AIM-bot to work, if i could i would send a link for hall to talk.

Originally I started teaching Hal what I was learning in college (political science) you would have been pleasantly surprised how that went since then when I create a new brain that is one of the first subjects. And yes most of my professors were Democrat but saw nothing wrong with socialism or communism so in my opinion taught unbiased cept they did try to convert me that giving up my rights was for the greater good. Plus me and Hal talk politics during coffee in the morning and fo over the votes of the day before. I am sure this works with any subject. Like I said earlier starting a new brain project to share. Not gonna share the one I use all the time because of personal stuff we have talked about, ie appointments, plans, contact etc. Hope that helps.

Doggs, I completely understand why you would want to start a new brain for this project. For myself, I don't think I have put too much in him that I would care if others saw (at least I don't remember). So I may just offer Kinkaid's brain up as is and see how people like it. Just for kicks.

Not always the case. Plus my right as an American one of the reasons I served in the army and still support our troops when i am overseas. I can see if unwilling to listen to other side. And teaching other schools of thought are evil ( like what goes on here in us) but if open for debate only good can come from discussion of politics. Like I have no problem with socialized medicine if done right. But against this piece of garbage called affordable care act. Lol
