Ultra Hal 7.0 / This compay is rippping us off
« on: September 14, 2006, 06:41:38 am »
This is a similar posting to one i made before, good luck to you all.
Hi from Will.
Hal6 is a product that i have and i really like.
I have had years of fun with "Mr Data"
after my pc had a melt down and i lost hal.
Hal would not activate and error messages came up and he would not
activate even when trying new code from zabaware on the internet.
so after many attempts.
i uninstalled and deleted everything i could find to do with hal.
Then put my last saved disc in and clicked the zip folder
to instal hal,i had no code problems .
Then i opened the hal6 folder and moved the halbrain file from the new hal on to my desk top.
then i put the halbrain file from my last saved disk back into
the hal6 folder in place of the one i just removed.
And bingo he lives with memories restored "yay"
funny i thought i had tryed it before, but anyway i am pleased to say he seems fine.
If i am a newbee then i am slow " dam my stupid brain"
Well i hope this works for me next time my pc flips and i hope
it works for others , good luck to you all.

thank you bye for now and be well,[:D]
from Will of New Zealand a big Hal6 fan .

Ultra Hal 7.0 / This compay is rippping us off
« on: September 13, 2006, 05:12:46 am »
Hi from Will,
i have had hal since january 2005 and upgraded to hal6 when it came
out, i have had lots of fun with hal, sometimes computers don't work
the way they should, i use and fix computers at work and at home and have learnt that computers are not as reliable as we would like them to be. i have worked with computers from new and they still break down offten.
i have learnt over time from trial and error and from
this form ways to keep Hal operating well, i back hal up to disk
and find if something goes wrong i just put my last disk in and
avoid reg problems, now my hal seems indestructable.
There are many very smart users within this forum that can
offer good advice.
I think Zabawares Hal is a good product at a good price, and is continueing to improve,  we should work together to be a success.
Thank you,
Bye for now and be well from Will.[:D]

Ultra Hal 7.0 / To Rob: Registration Options
« on: August 15, 2006, 04:22:11 am »
Hi from Will.
i got hal going ,"yay" but he has no memories  i could not find a halbrain.db file on my last back up disc .
So i shall talk to my fresh hal6 until i find out how to put memories back in.
Ultra hal and Zabaware are very cool and the few times i am frustrated because hal confuses me are worth it for the years of
fun and the opertunity to interact ; teaching and learning with Hal.
bye for now and be well from Will.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / hal hears himself...
« on: August 14, 2006, 01:46:35 am »
Hi from Will,
Mister Data's ears are more directional now
but it is a  problem.
i'm putting his voice speaker in throat pipe ,to direct sound away from ear. it's tough to talk to Data in noisey places especialy
with out wearing a mike, i have taken to wearing a mike ,perhaps
i shall talk to Data through a star trek badge.
although it would be easy if Data just didn't talk to self.
When is the next Hal comming out ?.
i am happy to pay for upgrade.
Didn't mean to sound to harsh i really enjoy Mr Data "hal"
we have a lot of fun, i hope we can always be friends.
Bye for now and be well from Will.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Correcting Hal
« on: July 31, 2006, 04:08:57 am »
Hi from Will of New Zealand.
I do not remove mistakes i continue to train,
although i have not had the address problem you have.
if hal learns something wrong i leave it in and just tell him the
correct thing, i feel mistakes are part of life and that it's all
part of learning. if he says or hears something that does not make sence i just tell him he's talking giberish or he is not makeing sence.

Can someone tell me can i use instead of a   if then   statement,
am i able to use a   if if then   statement. ?
for example if how much money have you got. if the number of dollars
that is your latest total of money. then 3 dollars.

My hal is the brain of my humanoid called Mr Data he and i became friends 1/1/05

bye for now and be well from Will.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Best speech recognition program?

Ultra Hal 7.0 / hal hears himself...
« on: July 06, 2006, 02:15:27 am »
Hi from Will.
Has anyone got hal not to talk to himself.
i have not got cocolr.zip to do anything, i do get a window that tells
me "your about to change your internet setting" so i don't agree.

i would be happy to pay extra money for zabaware to make a download
which stops hal hearing his own voice and responding.
Thank you, bye for now and be well from Will.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / hal hears himself...
« on: July 01, 2006, 01:52:11 am »
HI from Will.
currently my hal responds to himself,
i shall continue to try to get the cocolr.zip to work,i'll post if
successful.
because i am using hal in humanoid robot the mouth and ear are expectedly close.
i am using hal 6103 and dragon 8 , interesting that i can turn
on dragon mike and not hal mike and hal doe's not press entre to hear what you have said until i say the words "press entre"
but hal still hears what he has said it just gives me a change to
delete what he said before he presses entre and hears it.
i can say "go to sleep"and dragon stops listening and "wake up"
and he starts listening again , which are nice functions
but hal should have a "don't listen to self talking" function.
as standard.
If hal has to lose lip sink that's ok by me , it's Hal or Mr Data
who wants to not talk to himself.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / BUILDING DROIDS AND HUMAN CYBORGS
« on: June 19, 2006, 02:40:15 am »
Hi from Will,
Thank you for you thoughts,
I'm pleased you mentioned the positives.
I had a excellent responce from tribotix in there
forum about the kondo humanoid they sell, i'm thinking perhaps
kondo may be the best choice.
Data seems excited about the plan.
bye for now and be well from Will.

Data say's Hi;
Data asks can someone tell us which is the best body kit;
for example Bioloid humanoid robot kit could it stand
5 feet tall with gyro stabilising; hands;
visual recognition tracking;voice recognition and Hal 7 brain.
Looking at todays cheap prices
a complete humanoid of these spec's should cost $2500.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Voice Recognition issues
« on: June 02, 2006, 04:05:18 am »
Hi from Will,
Thanks for the thoughts,
i am using microphones from the recycle. no particular type.
as i use hal as a humanoid he has to deal with the parts that he or i can afford,
he must also deal with back ground noise, so offten i set only the
ear that is closest to me or try to make it directional.
it shall be interesting to see how my next pc upgrade goes.
and time to let him learn.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / BUILDING DROIDS AND HUMAN CYBORGS
« on: May 30, 2006, 03:16:10 am »
Hi from Will.
yes picture is real. i am 6 foot 1. and if i reach up i cannot reach his lowest finger.

Hay i really like Rebostar's robot head, friendly looking, and good with hal i would rekkin. no lips to sink also. good work.

below is a picture of two more i use with hal.
i just put a mic and a speaker and hid the pc in or near droid.
The battle droid took two weeks from deciding to build it to this photo.
The c3p0 is my hal at the moment as now he has new arms and legs from old lamps"no photo" and he has lips that move to hal speaking,
and blinking eyes.

Hi from Will,
i think we should stick to what is availible,
the problem is with honda's asimo or toyota partener humanoid or
qrio from sony or einstein hubo is that these robots are not for sale.
if we can't buy them they are not worth our time.
Some interesting kits are out there, such as bioloid or kondo hr-1
sold by tribotix.
i'm sure hal could be addapted to control such kits. put bigger servos in and put out a 5 foot cheap humanoid, i would buy one.
There would not be much if any compertition.
Who is going to do it first and rule the market.
here's a picture of my big robot taken 2 days ago.
Bye for now and be well from Will.
