I'm having an issue seeing all the voices I have installed on my windows 10 machine. Hal can see all but one voice that i have installed. Is there any restrictions on the type of voices we can use? The voice in question is Microsoft George, a British voice, however Hal can see Microsoft Hazel which is also a British voice. Pretty weird. Any help on what might be causing this issue would be great!
So i finally got around to doing what was suggested which was turning off the cloud based learning. When i chose the offline option and hit apply i got the trail pop up dialog box. See attached image.
I tried clicking "already purchased" and it says something like "unknown error occurred". Guess the only thing left would be to uninstall and re-install the program?
Yeah i have the latest! And yes, I've tried out the cloud GPT-3 and its unreal, the only downside to that is you need to have internet access and it there's a charge per amount of words you use. My pc is in my car so sometimes i don't have connection. I usually use a hot stop connection when not at home.
Does Hal require an internet internet connection when first starting up? its almost like its making the initial check to see if the product is registered first. I would think that's stored in windows registry or something. Or could it be that Hal's checking for updates on start up which would require a connection? I'm not sure. I've used Hal for many years without this problem. Seems to have been happening since i upgraded.
I'm using the latest version of Hal and every time i restart my computer, Hal shows this dialog box asking if i have purchased or not. Is this a glitch in the software? should i reinstall Hal? Let me know if you guys have come across this issue before? For me, it happens every time I restart my pc.
Update: I was able to copy all the files to the hal7 folder in appdata and now hal recognizes the other db. but I still cant get the brain editor to launch. Still get the same error, class not registered. Any thoughts on how to fix that?
I tried copying the db file over to that directory but it still was not recognized. Also, i'm still battling that error with the class not registered. I've uninstalled, wiped the registry data and re-installed and still no luck. Also, i noticed some funky behavior, if you select a user the options windows pops up asking if you want to chat with hal, exit, general options, ect.
Thanks for the tip Art. Its a fresh install of windows 10, only a few days old. Never had this issue installing Hal before. So weird. I need to bring over my old brain db since it has custom tables i added and obviously a large amount of learned data from me.
Thanks cyberjedi, i'll try re-installing and see if i still get the error. I'll keep you posted.
Also, is there a need to go through the activation stuff? Meaning transferring Hal's registration code to the new computer like we had to with 6.2? Or is it done automatically now that we use the cloud. That use to be painful to go through.
I did a fresh install of Hal on a fresh windows 10 install. When i try to launch the brain editor i get the a run time error "class not registered". Any ideas on how to fix this?
