virtual Life

(1/1)

Maviarab:
Hi all,

Came accross these while I was generally searching the net (as I do) and thought they looked interesting...not AI in the sense that Hal is but interesting nontheless.

It appears to be basically a "virtual AI" fish that lives in a tank on your desktop but what interested me (as with most primitive AI "cyber" pets is the reaction or lack or response depending on how you treat it.

Almost like a virtual tamogotchi for the pc...and anyone who bought/played with creatures (pc game) might enjoy it if only for a limited time.

Gonna see what its like myself and ill let you know how I get on...but dont expect too much from a simple free prog lol

Marius,

You going to try the spider too? lol!

Maviarab:
I'm very tempted too yeah as I have a keen interest in spiders/insects/reptiles etc...would have to be good though in order to fork out the £££'s

KnyteTrypper:
I've gotten really spoiled by Creatures, recently. As far as a-life is concerned, I haven't found anything to top it. I've recently learned how to IQ test my Norns, so I now have a ship full of Norns that are all smart enough to talk to the hand. You just can't beat a virtual pet that laughs, dances about, and tells you it loves you when you pet it (as opposed to one that just doesn't die if you care for it properly).

Maviarab:
Knyte,

Could not agree more with that statement...I'm still addicted to Creatures2 delux ed lol...something strangely interesting in watching the lil critters grow up lol.
