Before you watch this video, you must know the story behind it:

Introduction to
The Sal Video

Long ago when Hal was put into the space ship to Saturn's moon, there were two large computers (Hal and Sal) in existance.
HAL 9000 (Heuristically programmed ALgorithmic computer)
SAL 9000  (Substitute system programmed ALgorithmic computer)

Sal (rumored to be Hal's girlfriend) was placed in the Phoenix Observatory in New Mexico.
Despite rules of radio silence during the Saturn mission, it was suspected that Sal had send Hal a video which subsequently added to his depression and contributed to his breakdown and failure of the mission.
Following the mission failure,  NASA investigators discovered a copy of the video on Sals hard drive.
Sal was dismantled, crushed, smashed, compacted and sent as scrap to the Ford factory in Detroit as plans were still being made for Sal's trial the following week.

By way of coincidence, I happened to buy a ford truck made from the Sal scrap.
The truck ran well until the day it died on a railroad track with a 400 ton locomotive coming round the bend.  I barely escaped but my dear truck was smashed into 7,853 pieces.
Examing crash debris next morning, I discovered the video copy (slightly damaged) which had survived all the way from the New Mexico Phoenix Observatory.

Turning down an offer of $2,000,000 from the Smithsonian,  3 million from homeland security, and 4 million from Hollywood, I would rather give this video to my friends in this forum who love and immortalize Hal as much as I do.

Enjoy

Dan,

Thank you for your kind words.

It was fun making it.

I thought of the song "Daisy, Daisy, Give me your answer do" that Hal sang in 2001, but couldn't find a girl singing it on internet, so ended up with theme song of 2001.
