Title: HAL is HOW OLD?
Post by: jblackmd on January 30, 2004, 05:39:33 pm: Is there a way to set hal's age? Every time I ask him n=how old he is, he says he is 8 years old. I guess that is one of those primative responses. I would like to tell hal how old he is and have him remember it. I would also like to have him remember who (I say) he is. Any ideas?

Go back and look at some old posts for the last 3 or so months. You will find and age detect addon for your Hal and birthday text.

You are probably a victim of line wrap when cutting and pasting the scripts. The forum format will cause a pasted line to wrap to the next line if it is too long. I've attached a text document with the script I use, just change the date to whatever you want. I have the script insert just above this line:
'POST PROCESS: SAVE HAL'S RESPONSE

It should work in other locations as well. if you have aim, talk to annita282003 and ask her her age, she will respond with 28 years old based on the birthdate in the script

Post by: lostbowyer on February 03, 2004, 03:46:33 pm: The location where I told you to put the script is the location where most of my scripts reside, if a script doesn't work, first thing is to look for those line wraps! Can"t say that enough, next, if it looks right and it doesn't work, try moving it's location.

What voice did you use for the English with a French accent? Most voices with accents are designed for use only with the language that the accent respresents.

I am not a programer but i got really interested in HAl. Please could you give me some more instructions to make Hal remeber his own age. She tells me she's 10 years old after I have paste the files and modified the dates. When you mean script, what file do I have to search for, or where should I copy what you posted...please Help me!
