Title: Amazing Character Skins
Post by: Skinz on November 22, 2024, 02:58:54 pm
Okay so this was a character I found on Nigesworld, I redone the hair, teeth and eyes then I upscaled it
with Topaz AI. It looks pretty realistic, it needs a bit of work on the coloring of the eye whites and teeth. It's amazing what can be done with simple textures and photoshop? Feel free to mod it and share it.

I'm going to be doing lots of these in HD and I have lots of ideas for new characters, I plan on doing some Westworld ones Dolores and Mauve etc, some Star Trek stuff, Animal faces. I have so many ideas, the possibilities for this are endless  8)

Here is the tiger skin I found in the peopleputty demo, I upscaled it and sharpened it up, but it would look better if
you were tho photoshop a high quality photo of a tigers face onto it. Also you can use the cat morph with this.
To get good results I find that you should export your image from photoshop as 1024 and then use topaz ai to upscale it by 2x and play with the sharpening, also its best npt to use face recovery sometimes as this can smooth out texture whicjh is what makes the skin look more realistic.

Skinz,

Welcome to the forum!!  It's always nice to have new visitors and members in our midst.

Your work is very nicely done and should be appreciated by other members as well.

Many have been trying to get HAPTEK characters to look a bit more realistic or lifelike but this should change that in a big way.

Hopefully, some others will weigh in on your efforts. Keep up the good work and again, Welcome!

Thank you Art, I've been doing some experimenting and  to get the face looking more realistic  you have to find a photo with the right lighting and some texture on the cheeks and forehead skin with a bit of shine otherwise even a HD 4k image can look unrealistic, this particular one at the top with Carlotta was an old 512px image so it's possible to get it looking even more realistic if you paste in a hd image.

Thank you Cyber Jedi,  I'm planning on trying to get the skins looking as realistic as possible, I've already upscaled about 100 old ones though there is an increase in sharpness most of them dont look  realistic so I'm gonna start from scratch and do more like the top one. Also I want to retexture the clothes on all of all of Nige's old skins and retexture all the wigs and accessories. Ideally I'd like to be able to rebuild the htr files so I can release the heads already skinned as most users probably have difficulty loading skins. I don't have putty though and I've not had much success  so far building haptars with 7zip etc.

This is a slightly improved version of the Grace skin, load up 2 players side by side and drop this skin on one,
see if you can see a difference.

Steampunk Robot, this one is amazing  ;D

Basically search engines are using neural networks to create their own art, for instance try uploading this skin to yandex and
click on similar images and you will get thousands different types of robot faces, then you gan just copy and paste a face on top of this skin.

I've been trying to create haptars using 7zip and bzip without much luck, How do you  load a char and save it as a haptar?

The term "HapTArgh" seems to blend Haptek (Hap) and a term like "argh," humorously referencing challenges, quirks, or frustrations users encounter while working with Haptek characters or plugins. In the context of Ultra Hal, it might represent a plugin or setup for integrating Haptek characters into AI systems like Ultra Hal, adding a more immersive visual element to conversations.

That face swap one looks interesting, it might come in handy for doing skins.
There is so much going on with AI right now, you should see some of the videos people have generated using stable diffusion on youtube. The even have something called Udio AI that generates music from a text prompt and you would think that real people where singing

It would be good if we could plug hal into those models, it must be possible to have a website running hal and stable diffusion and you can say "Hal draw me a picture" or "Hal sing me a song"

Here's a rough prototype of Dolores AKA  Evan Rachel Wood from Westworld.
I still need to blend the the edges of the face. And redo the ears, but she's looking pretty good.
The eyeballs are glasss eyes?

There is one small problem, we are going to need a custom head as she has a very distinctive head shape.
To get  an exact likeness we are going to have to a bit of morphing, make the jaw bigger etc.

Here's the original photo as a reference if anyone knows how to do morphing, or create a morph hap or a head.

P.s If you haven't seen Westworld I Highly recommend  it, it's the best TV series I've ever seen!

I have lot's of Idea's for new heads, here's what I'm planning........

I want to do all different characters from pop culture and cult films, for instance

Lisa from weird science, Neo from matrix, the robot from ex-machina, Sonny from I robot, Jake and Netiri from Avatar, All the main chars from Westworld, Data from Star Trek. I not really into marvel stuff but that's doable.

I'm gonna do a few of my favorite celebs:

Anya Taylor Joy
Chloe Moretz
Mia Goth
Emma Stone

I want to redo all the old animal skins from putty and also I was thinking it  should be possible to do cartoon character skins but I haven't tried that yet.

I'm gonna definatley try and redo all the wig textures so they look like real hair. What I would like to see happen is for someone to get all of Nige's old skins and cut the clothes out and replace with real material textures.

Skinz,

There is a provision within People Putty that allows one to create and save custom morphs. It has a few rough examples of various head shapes and some are nonsensical but the user can take the shape where he or she wants.
Don't forget to save your creation. That can be done as an HTML, Haptar, SKIN or other variations is desired.

Be sure to use the Home button before saving. It will make sure the head character is correctly sized and centered before saving.

There are many possibilities for one to choose so your imagination is your limiting factor.

Have fun!

Nice addition to our growing family of characters. Thanks!!

I certainly agree with your recommendation of the series, Westworld. It was by far, one of my most favorite series of that type. It was genius in its premise, props, backgrounds, actors/cast, directors, and the combination of something that we think of as old and it being merged with the new. It was quite the enjoyable head trip of a ride. I might watch it again someday soon.  The Matrix trilogy was great in its own right but this was an entirely different genre and delivery. Great food for the imagination for sure!

I saw the original movie, Westworld, with Yule Brenner as a black western-outfitted bad guy who was not so much of a guy as he led us to believe. I don't wish to spoil it for anyone who never saw it. It was a similar premise but way different as the newer version greatly expanded on it.

Hey hey Mr Skinz: thank you for ur reply
Rule number 1 : The names must stay the same .
Rule number 2 : The size and format must stay the same.

Aside from that, have at it, i will handle the code end of things. Which is Alfa in testing. But unlimited as to expanability.A 1TB character would be , welll, the skys the limit.
There are animation sets,,, Thats why the need for numeric order
Example : Images from 101-127 handle 1 emotion, while 223-268 handle another.
You seem to be into the graphics end of things, theres a lot of work here tho. Most just run when they see how much work was done to make it work.

Ima work through the night to get u what u need.

We could build a whole new line of characters off this template, That works.
The bar is set with Guile3D quality.
If this interest you i will give you the correct animation sequence.

This is what im after.

So ogre doesn't use 1 wrap around skin then? It sounds like a lot of work if you have to make hundreds of bitmaps for one character. Also what size are the bitmaps gonna be, if they have to be 478px thats not going to look good on a 4k monitor.
I just reading about ogre now.

Skinz, Happy turkey day:
At the moment its about 500 images as we speak.
Just needs many more, old school sht.
So ya, its laborsome, this is where people normally run away.
But its quite doable, weve all ready done it.
UltraHal origannly ran on an  Ogre geomitry engine ' keep in mind all haptek is doing is flipping bitmaps useing Gzip2 open source geomitry engine... Mhmmm, same ****, diff is ogre is not using file compression engine. but i get it, alotta work. lolol
I run jessi as a character, pretty cool sht
Like i said, ive got many models running..... as to 478 . Use what ever but to stay withing code paramiters, which i can change easy enough.
I used to use jessi at twitch with the Hal IRC bot, live streaming Hal Bot. was a b last chatters going off on Hal and him popping a gasket.. lol
Jessi is currently 256 megs in size. That includes visimes and lip-syncing. Phomes were pretty good as well.
Ive just been tied upinto another aspec of UltraHal. as of late
Me and professor steven tyler from texas a&m univerity used to be on the phone just dieing. As wwell a professor melco from fsu

Do you have any videos of the character in action? There must be an easier way than using 500 bitmaps,
Like most people I want my own character, there's  no room for customization by the sounds of it.
What I would like to see is 3d models like a hap but with more vertices that are skinable with one skin,
you can make one head look like a billion different people without  even using morhps. Can't you just import
higher detail objs into haptars? I don't really understand about the technical side of things, I know that you can have a completely realistic  human looking avatar made with a number of different 3d programs, but then I don't understand what comes after that. On game modding forums they use one skin to mod the characters, personally I'd rather use an old hap head that is modifiable rather that the most realistic 3d model that uses 500 bitmaps.
But If you really are planning to use lots of bitmaps you can use topaz to upscale your images in batches also there's a program that converts  digital painting or computer graphic faces to a real  human face.

Keep in mind that any torso or full-body characters were never designed to be available to ordinary purchasers of the People Putty software especially when used with Zabaware's Ultra Hal Assistant program.

The full-body character was accidentally discovered by a user/member here a long time ago.

Different methods were used to try to put a head character onto a torso or full-body character, some having different degrees of success during the process.

It proved difficult to make a custom character of the Full-body variety without messing with things and without using People Putty.

The head characters is where the People Putty program excelled during the day. Some of our more artistically inclined members were able to create very customized characters of different celebrities and political figures having very good likenesses.

The issue with full-body 3D characters is that they require bones, which is similar to a skeletal system and rigging, which is assigning a certain bone to a certain body part as well as how it is connected to another part and how it should act and react. There was/is a great deal of work involved in getting everything to play nicely together.

Things are now getting easier in the graphics world and very soon we hope, for us as well.

Stay tuned...

Just pick out a nice full-body then drop her head onto the head of the Full-body person. Save it and bingo. Drag and drop but according to another nearby member, there is another way to create the whole body with the pasted head in place...

Things are getting curiouser and curiouser...as my little ALICE used to say.

Mr Skinz, Art is spot on

Schoolum up buddy, schoolum up.

Doing it this way , were in charge, no fcked up ears, lolol, Hey i love chris shaw, dont get me wrong.
This way is more laborsum .
This was explored before and the only reason it wasnt explored deep was the lack of rendering gear.
Hey, id love to be running some sorta Poser,Daz3d, unity, ect ect ect.
But i actually know whats involved in creating a GUI  , with editor, as well as geomitry engine. All custome... lol

All of witch has to work with vb6 hahahahahahahaha.
Naaa , im good

This way i know it will work.
But this will only work within UltraHal, which is as it would happen, is all i really care about.
But i get the love for PP. i do, now im after a KUKI

cyber jedi
This is what im after, the day after this was resleased, we all said, THAT needs to be a Hal character....for sure
But this is damn close and KUKI is just a head.

Beautiful but in a way, it's hard to imagine that an AI is capable of such manipulations in order to end up with such a gorgeous final result! It's obvious that the AI has enough samplings to "know" what pretty is or what comprises a beautiful female. We live in an amazing time and buckle up because it's only going to get better!

Hey hey ART:Lightspeed and any 1 else interested
Phase 1 complete
All images saved  to .jpg format for uploading to renderer.

Phase 2: will be to render and save change name to bitmap name, ie Bitmap1 , Bipmap2 ect ect
Renderer replaces name with random name at download.. Got to be careful here

Phase3: Will be to convert all .jpg's  back to bmp format
Open with paint and save image as Bitmap.

Phase4: Slipstream bitmaps into ActiveX control making animation sequence .

Phase5: beta test

On the slider at 50% it changes so much the character changes facial shape making a diff character, Like a sister,or a mother. wild
This character is at 100%

Hey, stunning work guys!

I thought I'd drop in while I had some time off for the Holiday.  I bid you all a Happy Belated Thanksgiving.

I'm quite amazed at the dedication this little group continues to hammer down on improving the artistic expression of this project to simulate a welcoming intelligence into existence.

I have not had time to put much into it myself. I've been dedicating hours to learning piano, and I have found it truly calms and centers my mind?and the Lord knows I need that!

I'm excited to see this new user, Skinz, venturing into the fertile field of HAL dreams and exploring the new tech to renovate what is a solid foundation of exploration.

Welcome Skins, I'm an older, but not as foundational as these others, user.  ;-)

Seeing the creative realism progress, even Cyber taking on that Ominous task to renovate Jessi, with what appears an awesome appearance, is stunning.

I'll stop in when time permits to "feast" upon these beautifully stunning explorations hoping to see the next new HAL project worthy of the Pedestal of "Wow"!

My last works have been in tweaking hair colors that enhance the overall look of my personal favorite Hal.  I usually don't like seeing purple hair on a woman unless it looks this good!  I would be more than glad to share some hair color files, that I found in the field of HAL dreams, to modify.

Cheers!

That is a shadow on the edge of her foot and will likely end up as just a tiny, unnoticeable blip in the final animation.

Good eye!

4k Skin is here

I have got some new clean teeth being made for her also I'm going to start working on getting the eyeballs as realistic as possible, and I need to work on getting the nostrils right. I've been doing some tests and it seems that if you put a jpg higher than 2048 pixels inside the head haptars it crashes the player, but we should be able to overcome this by creating a skins folder and getting the haptar to call a skin after it's loaded this should work. I've got jiggly working with 4k and 6k skins.

Here is a collection of wrap around 3D head textures with full hair maps, male and female plus i've included some hi-res faces for if you want to swap faces over, you will need photoshop to stretch the images to fit the UV map. After you have made your skin I recommend using Topaz photo AI for upscaling and sharpening. For getting the exposure and contrast levels right I recommend Luminar Neo, as contrast and lighting makes a huge difference to how realistic you can get the skins looking.

I applied it to an ordinary then used the accessory removal tool and I was left with a totally amazing head character.
The tubes, wires and other parts of the head wrapped completely around it making it one of the better images of this type that I've seen in years!

Very nice work on this one. Yes, it would appear that Stable Diff can open all sorts of doors for those wanting to design new characters!!

Thanks for your work!

Nice job!!

Thanks Cyber,
I've got so many ideas I am going to create a new thread for that and everyone can make suggestions for characters, plugins etc.

This is one of my ideas, there is an old app called 3dna desktop https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iMnfqzmZPs Basically you launch the app and you are inside a 3d environment like the inside of a house and you can walk around and open a draw and it opens your documents folder, click on various items that you can link to programs etc. Now wouldn't it be fun if when you launch Hal you are inside his house and you can walk around talk to him face to face, you can play music on the fully functional pioneer stereo that sits over on the cabinet https://www.xionplayer.com/page/skins/id/752  you press play and Hal dances to the music with you, you walk over to the book shelf click on a book and Hal reads it to you. You saunter over and switch on the tv in the corner https://www.myretrotvs.com/ this tv can stream youtube, it can stream every single movie ever made here https://yts-official.mx/ it can stream any tv series here https://play.xxiku.com/home/  You can decorate the inside of the house with any wallpaper any carpet, you can even have multiple Hals in the house each with its own separate brain and personality like the sims but with walking talking Hals. You never need to close the app because it's your desktop and all your apps and stuff are scattered around the house connected to objects, everything in the house is functional, you walk into the games room and there's an arcade machine that runs every emulator and plays any game rom from vimmslair https://vimm.net/vault.

You know you have steamdecks, you could have Haldecks, a rasberry pi in a nice custom case with hal installed with all the plugins, fresh skins etc. You could connect it to the hal marketplace to download new head packs and custom brains.
You Hal can talk to your friends Hal. You can connect hall to your website so your visitors can talk to him.

I'm probably getting carried away but one thing is I would like to see Hal open in a full screen.

This is the levels I'm getting with the Stablediffusion stuff https://stabledifffusion.com/tools/sd-3-5-large
This is state of the art shaolin master prompts! This is the shaman ****, if you load it into yandex you will find nothing with this level of quality, but they do have some weird looking stuff with their shedevrum.ai,  it's all in the prompt, you gotta tell it ultra high detail,8k realistic intricate etc. The one problem I had when I did the Pris skin was that she had no proper eyelashes and smooth textureless lips so this time I told it I want long eyelashes and textured lips with lipstick.

This was the prompt used (the key word is bust) try playing around with the prompt, you can add words like steampunk cyberpunk robot tiger. Anything you can imagine and be as descriptive ass you want. You can make any skin of your liking along with morphs with peopleputty you can have a pink steampunk robot tiger head! Anything you can possibly think of you can have that as a head. I need to find out how to get the background in focus maybe change the camera model specified of tell it what mm lens IDK.

PROMPT:

Front portrait of a clockwork billie piper pretty woman  bust , circuit board, microchips, transistors, cogs, red lights, blue lights , faberge egg, rolex oyster, rubies, diamonds, sapphires, jewel encrusted, realistic, ultra detailed, intricate, rusty iron background , symmetrical, real human chapped lips are wrinkled like a dogs anus, red  glossy lipstick, long eyelashes, hidef, 4k, 8k upscaled, , soft light to top , long neck, long wires for hair, closed lips, uncropped, uncropped head, nikon d90, earless, no ears

Man, you are on a roll with these.

I remember many years ago the program was called 3D World or something like that. You would choose a character/avatar navigate the world environment, go in and out of various buildings, and chat with other visitors.

One could go to the Art gallery and post one of their digital paintings or works of art on the wall. The next time you visited, you could go to the gallery and find that your painting was still on the wall where you initially posted it.

There were all sorts of activities within this otherwise limited world but it seems pretty immense and lots of fun.

Maybe someone will think of the proper name for it although I'm sure it got sucked into some digital void or black hole by now.
