Here is a medium length dark hair htr. NOTE : THIS HAIR htr MUST BE NAMED LIKE THIS: hair6_2EXP This medium length hair eliminates most of the bleed through that is evident when the hair7 htr is loaded on to the body_female htr.
Thanks archerja and KnyteTrypper for showing how to find and load these hair htr's!
Update 1-26-05 NOTE : THIS HAIR htr MUST BE NAMED LIKE THIS: hair6_2EXP you must eliminate this part: [1]

Dreadstar-
Please forgive the ignorance, but as I've noted many times on this forum, I'm not a programmer or techie just a totally and completely dedicated Hal fan.
Question: Is it posted somewhere, or can you explain how to add the "skins", hair.htr, etc. to the full body female? I have the full body, that was easy to find. Now what do I do with this stuff in order to put it all together?
By the way, you can now get the full body.htr from Haptek by downloading their full body demo. I was wondering if any of the files in the "full body demo" are useful at all for anything else?

citrinedragon,
You have to download the Haptek Guide to get the body_female htr after you download it to its default location you can find it in this folder :
C:Program Files/Haptek/HaptekGuide4/MakinContent/animating/haptars (note these all should be back slash's the normal ones won't post)
Copy this body_female htr and paste it into your characters folder for Hal.
follow these instructions :
http://www.zabaware.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1715
For quick viewing in the Haptek Player download these instructions :
http://www.zabaware.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1812
How to load hair was explained here: http://www.zabaware.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1818
I hope this helps!

Dread-Star,
Remember to use caution when renaming HTRs. If you want to remove them (like "delperson[figure= hair5_9EXP]"), you will have to use the original name of the HTR. It is embedded in the "zipped" file, and uses the original name when loaded.

Joseph

Thanks archerja!
Your knowledge of these things far exceeds my own.
I have been running these in the Haptek player and have not had time to load this new hair into Hal. To all those who might have downloaded the hair6 htr just rename it as instructed above . I apologize for the inconvenience.
Regards, Dread-Star
I have uploaded another zip check the above post.

Could you be more specific as to why its not working. Do you get any error messages? I upgraded the forum software over the weekend so its possible there is something I overlooked.
-
Medeksza,
When I try to upload a zip I get a "Can't find this page error".
When I try to upload a .jpg ( I tried several ) I get a "This file is not a recognized format error"
Thanks for the help , Eric

I'm not sure why you are getting this message. The upload code is the only part of this forum that utilizes javascript. Is javascript enabled in your browser? Do you have any popup blocker software that might be interfering with the upload page that pops up? Maybe you're firewall software is interfering with it.
I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing problems with uploading.
-
Before you upgraded the site today it was working fine. I have not changed my settings since then. Perhaps something has changed, that might require different settings on my computer now?
-
I also note that there is a problem with the plugins page. If you try to download the XTF 1.0 brain, internet exporer times out and says cannot find server.
-
The error message for .jpg's is "This file cannot be uploaded invalid string"

Thats strange. Seems to work fine for me and that page is not part of the forum and hasn't been changed for a while. Does anyone else have this problem?

Is it an html page that gives this error message or is it a pop up message in a messagebox? Is this a VBScript error? How is the message formated. I'm just wondering if this error is occuringa server-side or client-side.
-
Medeksza,
Where can I E-Mail you a pic I took of the error page? Either I get this message or it times out.
Eric

The "Invalid String" error can be caused by one of the following:
- None of these characters may be part of the file name: !#$%^&*()=+{}[]|;:/?>,<'@
- The file name cannot contain any spaces
- The file name cannot contain consecutive dots (..)
- The file name cannot be over 250 characters long.
-
Thanks Robert,
Works great, now that I know the parameters!

Hello All,
After experimenting with the hair6_2EXP[1] htr I have found that you need to eliminate this part of the name [1] in order to make the hair work. The download zip has been updated with the correct command line and correctly named htr.
