Title: Making hal learn from atext file
Post by: TNT101 on July 03, 2005, 01:38:29 pm
How do I setup a text document so how hal can learn from it?
I mean how do I set it up so he knows how to answers the last line?
Does anyone have some samples text docs they could post here showing how do this?

You might as well forget about learning from a text file. Hal learns vary little if any from text files. The best way to teach Hal anything is to feed it simple statements. The simpler the better. If you do this you will be supprised just how fast Hal can pick up the new knowledge. Just don't expect to much for at least a few months. Hal appears to have the learning capacity of a 4 year old child and only through reforcement does it gradually learn advance topics.

Yes I agree, Hal only uses the text files as a secondary lookup, but Rob may well be looking to change this with the new Hal.  Perhaps make a suggestion in his new thread?
